It's an unkown number. You pick up. "Hello?" "Hello, is this Y/F/N?" A man asks. "Yes it is. Who are you?" You ask him back. "I'm James Barnes and you are Steve's ex-girlfriend right?" He asks. It kinda hurts for you to admit it, although you guys been apart for 2 weeks it still feels like a fresh wound. Deep down you're worried. Why is this guy calling? What's going on? Is there something wrong with Steve? You decide to just ask him."Yes I am. If I may ask, why are you calling me? Is there something wrong with Steve?" You ask. You really start to get worried. "Well, yes. We went on a dangerous mission and Steve somehow wasn't focused. He didn't pay attention to his right and got shot. He told me to call you and tell you to come." James says. You mentally feel yourself break down. This is what you feared for all that time. That something like this would happen. But why would he want YOU to come out of all. "But why does he want me to come? I thought he hated me." "That's what I thought too first when he called me about your breakup. It didn't stay that way though. He'll explain the rest himself. Just come to the Southlake hospital and I'll meet you there." He tells you. "I'll be there in 20, bye James." "Bye Y/N" You quickly get your jacket on and pack your phone, keys and some money. You get to Nat's car and drive to the hospital.

Once you get there, you see a man. He's almost just as tall as Steve. He has brown long hair and a metal arm. You walk up to the man. "Are you James? I'm Y/N." You ask. "Yes, follow me." You follow him to a room. You go into the room and see Steve all wrapped up. You almost break down at the sight of it. "Hey Y/N." He says, his voice sounding raspy. "Hey Steve." You say, trying to hide the fact that you're sad to see him like this and just want to snuggle up to him. "Bucky, could you please leave. I'd like to talk to Y/N in private for a moment." James nods and leaves the room. "Listen Y/N, I'm so, so sorry for what I said. I shouldn't have reacted like that. You were right. I shouldn't have avoided you like that when I came back from missions. I miss you Y/N. I'm sorry." He says. "I miss you too and I did overreact Steve. I shouldn't have said those things. You were dead tired after those missions, it was logic you didn't want to talk. I'm sorry too Steve." You tell him. Then you can't hold it in anymore and you start crying. Steve motions for you to get over. You walk to the side of the hospital bed. He pulls you next to him and holds you tight while whispering comforting words into your ear. He knows this has been your biggest fear since you were together. "Can we start over again? I can't live without you Y/N. I love you." Steve asks you when you have calmed down a bit. "I wouldn't wish for anything else than that. I love you too Steve and I'm with you 'til the end of the line."
