That evening there was the quiz night. So, after dinner and changing clothes, Kurt exited his room to go to the activity. He was walking in the hallway, when he saw Blaine coming in his direction.
"Hummel" he said, with his strange way to say it. "I need you"
Something happened in Kurt's head when Blaine pronounced his name. He watched that guy, that handsome guy standing in front of him, the guy he never expected to become friends with, the one who he thought had nothing good. Suddenly he realized that he liked him. Like a lightning. Just the sound of his name coming from those lips. All of a sudden he could not stop thinking about it.
"You, you need me?" He asked smiling.
"Yes, look, there's this girl who is texting me from Alice's phone, she said she wants to be my friend and she wants to meet me in front of her room so we could be alone. Can you come with me? I'm hella scared"
Kurt smiled amused.
"Sounds fun" he said
"Thank you! She's probably a 10 years old, but I don't know her" replied Blaine, showing him the text she sent to him.
Kurt started laughing.
"She's 10 for sure"
"This is the room" Blaine said, when they arrived to the last room of the corridor "can you stay here and watch if something happens, I'll stay on the stairs"
"Sure" answered Kurt.
No one came out of the room.
"She's not coming" whispered Kurt to Blaine.
"Maybe we should go" said Blaine, waiting for Kurt.
"Call Alice, maybe they are together" the taller boy suggested.
"Great idea"
Blaine took his phone from the pocket and started searching the number. He seemed nervous, but he had no reasons to.
Kurt couldn't stop laughing.
"We're gonna meet them at the quiz" announced Blaine when he finished talking.
"Why are you so nervous? She's just a little girl who has a crush on you" asked Kurt, turning his head to Blaine.
Damn he's cute, he thought, how could have I not realized it in three years? I've been so blind. And he's smart, and funny.
"Well, you know, noone likes being stalked. And I don't want to break her little heart"
"Our generation wasn't that immature at 10, was it?" Said Kurt.
This time Blaine looked at Kurt.
Saying that he was cute was an understatement. The black sweatshirt he was wearing accentuated his lips and his flat chest, his skinny jeans showed how perfect the bottom part of his body was. his smile. He had never seen him smiling like that evening. And his smile was so beautiful, so pure, so natural. He just wanted to hold his hand in that moment. But he couldn't. Not only for his reputation, also because he thought he won't never be liked back.
"You have to sit next to me or that little stalker will do it" said Blaine smiling.
"Sure, I will be pleasured to be your body guard for tonight sir."
They both bursted into laugh.
"I'll go take a look around to see if they arrive, okay?" Said Kurt.
The truth was that he needed to think.
He had a crush on a straight guy. Another time. But this time something was different, he couldn't explain what, but he felt it.
When he finished thinking, he came back to the quiz room.
He entered and next to Blaine sat Chandler. Obviously he didn't let him sit next to Blaine.
"Kurt, I know that you know a lot of things, so will you play with me?" Asked Chandler.
"Uhm, yes, sure" replied Kurt, looking at Blaine. He was playing with the phone.
The two girls, Alice and the stalker, arrived in the middle of the game and sat behind them.
Kurt picked his phone and wrote a text to Blaine.
THEY'RE HERE --KURT
Blaine looked first at Kurt, then around the room.
WHERE? He replied
BEHIND U wrote Kurt.
The guy turned around slowly just to watch the girl, who was staring at him. She wasn't ten, but she seemed pretty immature.
The game continued and Kurt left his phone unlocked on the desk.
He was answering the questions, when he noticed that Chandler was reading his texts with Mercedes.
Mercedes always sent him 'I love you's' and heart emojis.
"Who is it?" Asked Chandler, curious.
"Why are you reading my texts? Who told you you could? Mind your business!" Kurt was pretty angry, this guy was acting absolutely crazy. The compliments and his approachs were okay, but checking his phone. This was mean and not correct.
When he was checking if he had new texts that Chandler read, he received one from Blaine.
WAIT FOR ME OUTSIDE WHEN WE FINISH.
