"Hummel!" Said a familiar voice accompanied by a pat on the back. Anderson. He always back-patted everyone. Kurt couldn't stand that guy. Bad boy, jock, who believed he was the most fabulous human being on the planet, maybe also a little stupid. And all that gel. Nauseous.
"Hello Anderson" he replied, with the fakest smile he had ever done "can I help you?"
"Just checking" Blaine replied
"Were you checking if my name was still Hummel?" Kurt asked, sardonically. He didn't want him to ruin the trip.
"No, man. I wanted to ask you how you are doing" Blaine was surprised that Kurt didn't get what he was trying to say.
"I know, Anderson. It's called sarcasm. Why don't you search it up on hurban dictionary? Or do I have to explain you how to do it?" Kurt was capable of being really mean if that meant distancing people. And he had had enough toxic people in his life to bear one more.
"Oh...okay." Blaine didn't get it. He was just trying to start a peaceful conversation with an ex classmate and he didn't get why Kurt was being so cold. He knew he could be like that. The first years of middle school he wasn't exactly the definition of friendly. His maturity outshoned the other peers. So he had to build himself a fence.
"Jerk" whispered Kurt, relieved by the fact that he had to stand him only for 2 weeks, then never again.
The way to the residential area was long and when they arrived they all were so tired that they had to go to sleep immediately.
Even if he was very tired and wanted to sleep more that everything else, Kurt couldn't keep his eyes closed, he kept thinking about his family, so far apart. So he exited his room, trying not to wake anyone and he knocked on Finn's door. When he opened it, Kurt hugged him so tight that he could barely breathe.
"Hey, Kurt, what's the matter?" Finn asked, in confusion, wondering why the hell hs Brother would wake him at that time and hug him for no reason.
"Can I sleep here tonight please? I miss home." Kurt was almost begging.
"Sure bro, no problem" replied him, still not convinced. "come in"
Finn's room was a mess, the content of his bag was scattered everywhere, what was left of a sandwich was now on the floor, the clothes he was wearing in a corner. Kurt couldn't help but turn his nose up at the smell of sweat, probably he had better stayed in his room. But a little company could be of some use, and his brother was the emblem of home. He accepted him as a brother, he didn't seem concerned when Kurt admitted he had a crush on him and he protected him everytime it was necessary. The two years of their parents' marriage had been the best of his life, mostly because of him.
The two guys were fast asleep, next to each other.
