Chapter 38: Somebody Gets Reincarnated

It had been three days since their encounter back at the hospital. According to the reporters, there was a gas leak in the hospital which caused the ruins of the main entrance, and also according to the reporters, there were no casualties pertaining to the explosion which the company manipulated. Witnesses stated that around midnight, they saw hundreds of men hiding in the woods, terrorists as they supposed which shook the whole neighborhood. The officials stated that the rumors about a terrorist attack weren’t true and the group of people hiding in the woods was simply the military doing some drills, another lie.

Bright painful lights welcomed the host of Poseidon on his ascend back to reality, it pierced through his eyes which made him squint. A blurry silhouette of a woman came in and blocked the light. “You’re awake,” she said and noticed that the host of Poseidon was squinting his eye. “Oh sorry,” the lights were turned off and the light far away from his area of vision was the only thing lighting the room.

“I have food, do you need help to eat?” she asked. “Could you talk?” she continued even though the host of Poseidon tried, he had hard time uttering a word, a sound even.

“Let’s get you up,” the girl said and his bed started to recline, helping him sit up into a comfortable angle. “There we go,” she said nicely.

“Here’s some soup, now open up,” the host of Poseidon opened his mouth and the warm soup flowed from his tongue down his throat giving him some energy to find his senses. It tasted magnificent, creamy and sweet at the same time. It occurred to the host that it was the first thing he ate in days that has significant taste, he treasured every spoonful of the magic soup.

Somebody knocked on the door and a man came in with a dashing suit on, he wore sunglasses which made it hard for the host to distinguish his face but one thing was for sure, he had a moustache and a goatee. “Is he ready, they’re ready for him,” he spoke out loud.

The girl looked at him. “You’re going to be fine, they’re just going to ask a few questions and that’s it.”  She promised and the host just nodded.

After he was all taken care of, the host of Poseidon was taken to an isolated room via wheelchair. It was a plain white room with only a table and two chairs facing each other at the middle of the room. At one of the walls, there was a huge mirror but the host quickly assumed that it was a two way mirror. He was placed at the other side of the table and was left alone.

After a few minutes of waiting, Bobby came in with a briefcase on hand. He looked fairly retro for an old man, he sat down and smiled, which made the host of Poseidon more comfortable. “Can you talk?” he asked but the host nodded no.

He took out a sheet of paper and a pencil from his suitcase and slid them to his side. “Can you write?” he asked and this time The host of Poseidon said yes as he took the pencil and scribbled on the paper, trying to practice his handwriting. The old man smiled once again and loosened his tie.

“My name is Bobby Cooper, you can call me Bob,” he introduced but the host looked away into the two way mirror, staring at it with discomfort. “Don’t mind them, it’s just you and me right now,”

Right at that moment, Luna and Nel were behind the mirrors, listening to everything Bobby and the host discussed. Luna was really anxious. “Why is Poseidon suddenly here?” she asked but Nel had no answers.

“I think it’s best to not know yet, Zeus is going to retire, but not right now, maybe Poseidon is experimenting.” Was all Nel thought of.
