Gemini sighed and chewed on the end of her pencil as she stared down at her work sheet. She was still avoiding the triplets along with Sage. Gemini hated everyone right now, though thankfully she was able to get the stone to the dragon. It was trek to get there without anyone noticing. Not to mention Sage kept trying to come along so it took three days to get there alone. Gemini was so annoyed; she kept getting calls from her father and her brothers. She was however ignoring them, she couldn’t chance having them around with the knowledge that they’re only there to watch her every move.

Gemini also kept away from Britney thanks to Sage she had somehow kept under the radar and was able to get through some of the day without Britney’s interruption. Over the weekend Sage had been silent in the real world she completely ignored her. Gemini didn’t mind though her nice weekend without clients was ruined when she was fired from her part time job. The boss had been a pervert and kept making passes at Gemini. When the boss was getting tired of Gemini turning him down, he gave her the red card and kicked her out.

Gemini was standing by her locker just staring at the little mirror on the inside of the door when Britney walked up twirling a strand of hair around her index finger. “You didn’t listen, are you deaf?” She sneered, Gemini watched as a few people stopped to watch. “I can get my brother to knock you around a bit more if that’ll help.” She said with a quick smirk. Gemini looked at her then, “You said ‘don’t come back tomorrow’ not ‘don’t come back Monday.’”

Britney narrowed her eyes at her. “Oh you think you’re so smart huh?” With a quick flick of her wrist she knocked the books Gemini was holding to the floor. “We’ll see if you’re still laughing by the end of the day slut.” She turned and walked away.

“You’re just jealous I’m getting more sex then you.” Gemini called after her. Britney spun back and glared, “You fucking little bitch!” She lunged at Gemini but before she could get very far a girl reached out and grabbed a hand full of Britney’s hair and yanked back forcing Britney onto her knees.

“Easy there tiger, I wouldn’t want to yank too hard and rip your lovely hair out.” The girl jerked Britney’s hair around a bit just to prove her point. Britney clawed at the girls arm desperately. “Let me go you bitch!” Sage stepped up and helped then as well. “Shoo, off you go; nothing to see here.” She waved away the crowd as the girl let Britney go who scrambled away. “You’ll fucking pay for this!” She shouted before running off down the hall. The girl walked over to Gemini and kneeled down picking up her books and handed them back.

Gemini looked her in the eye then, “Selkie?” Gemini gapped at the girl with wavy copper colored hair. The girl winked with a smirk. “The names Jewel, Jewel Benson,” She introduced herself. “I just transferred here from Lincoln High, go unicorns.” She pumped a fist in the air halfheartedly; her features were soft and friendly. Gemini just stared for a moment, “Uh okay.” She said once she finally regained her bearings. Sage watched Jewel as she turned on her heel and walked away waving over her shoulder. “I’ll find you at lunch.”

Sage walked up to Gemini after Jewel was gone. “What the hell was that, since when do you have people watching out for you?”

“I don’t,” Gemini said, “At least I didn’t.” Gemini sighed and opened her locker again and shoved her books in before slamming it shut again and walking away.

At lunch Jewel did sit down with them she offered a bright smile and a homemade cupcake. Sage took hers gladly while Gemini was more cautious. “Why was that girl being so mean to you?” Jewel asked,

“Because she’s Britney,” Sage chimed into the conversation as she licked chocolate icing off her hand.

“That’s not right.” Jewel scrunched up her face cutely.
