So I feel guilty have another two chapters of The Fox's Game in one day. I don't care if it's two in the morning it's still Tuesday for me.

Gemini

School was a bore since Willow and Sage started hanging out with her everyone has been keeping their distance. The looks on their faces told Gemini everything she needed to know. What was going on was definitely weird. Sage and Willow didn’t seem to mind the stares obviously used to it since Willow is head cheerleader and Sage was a mobster’s daughter, correction ‘rumored’ mobster’s daughter. There was also Jewel who sort of just appeared, declared her friendship and has been hanging around with her sugary treats ever since. Gemini didn’t know what to make of their group of four.

They all sat at the same table together at lunch even helping each other out with school and home work. Gemini was even forced to be lab partners with Sage which wasn’t too bad of a thing since she was great at school. Gemini’s grades haven’t been better and she doesn’t think she’d been doing any work since the threat of the Overseer killing her became a real thing. Britney hasn’t done or said anything though whenever she’s around she’s got the look of someone who has it all. Always smiling smugly Britney had officially become the scariest person Gemini knows.

It was an odd feeling, to have people she could rely on. Her brothers have been MIA for a few weeks, however Gemini just wrote it off as them being recalled since they did a horrible job keeping tabs on her. If her father hadn’t given her a heads up Gemini was sure she would have thought her brothers were there legitimately and they told her they were there to get closer to her, she would have believed them. She’s sure of it, her brothers had never lied to her before why would they start now.

It was a strange world, Willow, the head cheerleader had a huge crush on her and Sage, the alleged mobster’s daughter was her best friend. Gemini still couldn’t figure out if this was all just one huge dream and she’d wake up in a hell hole one day, all alone and broken.

Sage nudged Gemini and frowned, “Hey stop spacing out we’ve got important things to do.” Gemini looked at her and then to Willow and then Jewel who were also staring at her. They were sitting at lunch pouring over the journals for the tenth time in a row that day. “Are you alright you’ve been off for a few days now.” Jewel said, “Is it that time of the month?” She asked lowering her voice. Gemini sighed and shook her head.

  “No, I’m just thinking.”

“Thinking about the Mountain District?” Willow asked and Gemini shook her head again.

“No, it’s nothing don’t worry about it.” Gemini said shaking her head and looking down to Chakra’s journal. Items could be passed from the Dream world into this one if one of the lights were touching the item and wished for it to return with him or her. It was a tricky ability that only practiced few could pull off, Gemini was one such person.

“Get your head in the game Gem, one slip up and we’re all dead.” Jewel said making Willow shift uncomfortably. Gemini had noticed very time death was mentioned be it jokingly or serious as Jewel had just done Willow gets squirrely. Gemini simply wrote it off as unresolved feelings with Willow’s mother’s death. Gemini didn’t know the details of the story but apparently Willow’s mother was unrecognizable and had to be identified by dental records.

“I’m trying, I am it’s just so hard to figure this out. But everything is so jumbled up and contradicting.” Gemini sighed and leaned back in her chair glaring at the journals. Jewel took a bite of her cookie with a thoughtful frown. Ever since the night Gemini and Willow found the Mountain District city she’s been acting like she has something really important to say but has kept it to herself for reasons Gemini doesn’t give a damn about at the moment.
