Pic of Rafael Infernus
The sun had barely rose up from it's slumber, the air was still and the birds that usually sung at this hour forgot their tune. Fog danced at the duo's feet as they travelled through the misty kingdom to have breakfast with the devils.
"I heard a man like Rafael Infernus is to die for. Maybe you should take him for a spin and tell me about it later since you've been having so much luck with men lately." Eden teased. She hasn't stopped bothering Dante since that Sunday night when the Dumonts went at it for the poor boy. She knew her cousin was a great looking guy but she didn't think he was that good looking that two brothers would go to war for him. While she was enjoying all The Count's suffering, he was terrified.
In the past two days he has received countless roses, love notes, gift baskets and etc from the brothers causing him to drown himself in whores every night to keep the thought of him getting real serious with a man. "What the bloody hell do they expect from me!? Children!? Well....... I did make a spell for that but that's not the point. The point i-."
"Dante! You're ranting again." The Countess interrupted her cousin's mad train of thoughts. "I really don't know why they want you." Eden laughed.
"I feel somewhat offended." Dante feigned hurt.
They arrived at the castle and once again Dante wondered why on Earth did two people need some much space. "I wonder what dumb accusations Evelyn has for you today?" Dante joked.
"I swear that woman has a death wish."
"And trust me dear Eden it has already been granted." Dante smirked. They finally reached the royal dining room and took their seats. Everyone was present except the Infernus'. "So Eden, cursed anyone lately?" Evelyn "joked" and we all laughed along. Dante always loved a good show and trust me Eden and Evelyn knew how to put on a good one. "If I do Evelyn. Trust me you will be first to know." Eden said in a low malicious tone.
"So Father David where are your sons? I hope we didn't come all the way down here for nothing," Magistrate Hale said politely.
"Rafael is here but Michael won't make it till tomorrow. Rafael is probably just trying to look his best."
"I'm here I'm here." A tall, lean man with a shaggy head of dark hair flecked with grey and pair of keen grey eyes came from the doors. "Is this all of you?" he asked with a smile and they nodded. Everyone except Eden who couldn't stop staring.
"Are you all alright mistress?" he asked the still staring Eden. "Absolutely fine." she smiled.
"Harlot." Dante whispered in her ear snapping her out of the lust induced trance. "How rude!" Eden she whispered back gaining weird stares from everyone at the table but Rafael just smiled.
"I would like to start our breakfast together with a prayer chorus then we'll carry on."
They sung a song or two then Father David prayed for well being, prosperity and all the things good Christians wish for everyday but never seem to get.
"Count Dante I never knew you could sing so well. You should visit the church next Sunday." Father David praised.
"Sorry but I don't do Sundays." Dante said causing everyone at the table erupt with laughter.
"It's funny how they actually think you were joking." Eden whispered.
The butlers came in with a whole ocean of food. From pastries to meats, wine and other fattening foods but no one complained, they just stuffed their face full. Some even dropped some in their bosoms. Oh poor Eden.
"Now before we talk about witches." Rafael spoke. "I like to perform a ritual. A ritual that points to a nearby witch." He took out some herbs from pocket. Herbs like mugwort, catnip, lobelia and sage and threw them in the empty chalice he drank from. "I'll now light the herbs, The smoke that rises will blow towards a nearby witch." Rafael explained earning a sadistic smirk from Dante.
Everything was going better than Dante had planned. All he had to do was make sure the smoke blows on Evelyn but Eden already guessed that was his planned and was ready to go up against him.
The hunter lit the herbs and black smoke rose from the chalice. It was leaning towards Dante so he called forth a light breeze to blow it in Evelyn's direction. Eden stopped Dante's wind and kept the smoke still.
"Are you sure the wards are up?" Rafael asked his father. "Only your majesties and I know where they are and I'm certain they wouldn't take them down." David answered.
"I'm beginning to question your knowledge on hunting witches cause is clearly not working." Evelyn said with irritation evident in her voice. "Just out the damn thing!" she pointed to the chalice which went up in blue flames at her gesture.
Everyone the table was know staring at her. David was in frightened shitless, Magistrate Hale was shocked, King Carlyle was sad for he knew what was going to happen to her, Eden happy and sorry she couldn't stop Dante from framing her and Dante was as happy as a lark.
"Oh my Jesus! Evelyn?! You're a witch?" Dante exclaimed. "No there must be an explanation!" Eden defended which took Evelyn by surprise. "No one has yearned more than her for the witches to be caught. She is not a witch, I am sure."
"Yes you make a great point but we all saw her set that chalice on fire." David objected.
"I am not a witch!" The Queen screamed. A great wind swept through palace blowing out all the candles in the castle causing the room to get dark. The Queen's quick footsteps could be heard as bolted out room. "Get her!" Rafael ordered.
Everyone helped in the search for the "witch" but she couldn't be found. "I can't believe I was married to a witch. For so long I thought I knew her." Carlyle felt betrayed by his love, the least she could do was tell him the truth and he probably could've helped her hide her true nature from everyone.
"It's okay my king, you couldn't have known that she was a devil. All will be well in due time and probably you'll find another." Dante comforted.
"Your words soothe my soul Count Von Brunt but for how long? I'll never love like I loved her."
"Don't worry we'll find her. I'll see to that." Dante assured and walked away filled with elation and joy.
