thirty six

I put on the dress I had just bought this morning being careful not to smudge my make up everywhere with it.

"Okay, tie or bow tie?" Derek questions walking into our walk in wardrobe holding both options up for me to see.

"Neither, just unbutton a couple of buttons and you'll be the hottest guy there" I say patting down the dress making sure it was sitting nice on my body.

"Oh trust me, id be the hottest guy there no matter what" Derek says putting the tie and bow tie down taking my advise unbuttoning the top two buttons of his dress shirt letting it hang freely.

"Don't flatter yourself too much" I laugh picking up my clutch from the chair that matched my outfit perfectly.

"We better get going then" Derek says picking up his car keys slinging them around his finger.

"I think your forgetting something" I question puckering my lips.

"Right,  I didn't feed bacon" Derek says making me scoff as he seems oblivious to the fact that all I wanted was one kiss.

"That wasn't necessarily what I was talking about" I say giving up and pushing my way past him switching off the light leaving Derek in the dark.

"Oh right" I hear Derek say loudly making me laugh as I walk down the stairs greeting Bacon as she was jumping around obviously excited about something I had no idea about.

"Let's go get you something to eat" I say patting her head starting the walk to the kitchen as she follows next to me.

I open the cupboard pulling out the bag of dog treats knowing Derek and I would be gone for a while so I decided to give her a bone to keep her occupied for as long as we're gone.

"How about that kiss now?" Derek questions as I pick my hand bag back up from the bench and start walking towards Derek.

"You lost your opportunity" I say giving Derek false hope, I walked up close to him before quickly grabbing his car keys and walking next to him.

"That's harsh" Derek says turning around and starting to walk behind me, I laugh opening the front door leaving it open for Derek as I walk down the couple of stairs unlocking Derek's car.

"How is this fair, it's my car" Derek complains as i open the drivers door.

"It's fair, I'm your wife" I say a smile forming on his face, he shakes his head before hoping into the passenger seat as I get into the drivers seat.

I put the key into the ignition, Derek's hand finding it way onto my thigh pushing away the thin piece of fabric that was my dress.

I start driving out of our driveway turning the radio on.

"We should go out for dinner tomorrow night" I say sitting back comfortably in the seat both my hands on the wheel driving down the road.

"Where did this come from?" Derek asks rubbing his thumb on my leg.

"There's this new Mexican restaurant that I really want to try" I say concentrating on the road.

"Well then tomorrow nights settled" Derek says.

After a ten minute drive with constant conversation going on between Derek and I.

I stop the car in front of the vale opening the door as I get out thanking the vale worker as he gets into my previous spot.

Derek appears next to me taking his hand in mine intertwining our fingers together.

"Tonight gonna be fun, it's not going to be like last time" I say nodding mainly to myself, that was my main worry every time I came to a gala now, that something else bad was going to happen.

Because one day when something else does happen I don't know if I'll be able to take it.

"We're gonna drink, we're gonna dance and were not gonna care about anyone else there" Derek says, I look up at him giving him a smile kissing him on the cheek before we enter the building that the gala is being held at.

Without hesitation Derek and I started our way to the bar, tonight was going to be our night.

so sorry for not updating in ages, I've been planning on what else could be happening in this book as I really want to write so many, many more chapters if you will all read it so what do you guys think?
