BAILEY'S POV:
As Matt took me around his house, I wondered if he ever had to work for anything. His house, while it wasn't bigger than mine, definitely gave out a very posh impression through its decoration. He skipped the living room and kitchen, which I had already seen. As we climbed the stairs to the first floor, I asked, "So why are you so interested in Logan and Gemma?" He shrugged. "He seemed a little possessive about her. This is the master bedroom." He said, and pointed to a door. "That's Jade's room. I don't enter there." He continued, oblivious to my confusion.
"You think Logan has a crush on Gemma just because he seemed a little possessive?" I asked. He opened a door and waved me inside. "Don't tell me that you haven't noticed it. The guy is crazy about her. This is my room." He said. I stared. His room seemed to be teenage boy heaven. A huge bed occupied the centre of the room. The walls were dark blue- almost black. On the wall hung various posters of sports legends and musicians. "You like Kansas? And Shaquille O'Neal. Is that poster AUTOGRAPHED?" I ogled at his poster of the Beatles.
"Yeah. My dad got that for me a few years ago." He said. "You are so lucky!" I exclaimed. He had a small ledge on his window that faced their backyard. "So I'm assuming you like my room?" He asked. "Yeah. It's pretty impressive." I admitted as I sat on the edge of his bed. "Your room is pretty cool too. Your bed is really comfortable. A lot like mine." Matt said and my face grew warm. "Okay. Promise to never talk about that again." I said and Matt snickered. "I'm kidding." He said.
I was overly conscious of his eyes on me, so I changed the topic as fast as I could. "About Logan and Gemma-" "Logan has always liked Gemma. And its become more prominent lately. Everyone knows it." Matt cut me off. I thought hard. "We never noticed, did we?" I muttered to myself. "You didn't." Matt said unnecessarily. I rolled my eyes at him. Matt grabbed the chair from his table and some pen and paper.
"So Bailey, tell me something about yourself." Matt said. "Seriously?" I chuckled at him waiting with the pen poised over the paper. He nodded at me. "Okay, like what?" I asked. "I don't know. Favourite colour? Last thing that made you cry? Latest cat fight you got into? Anything." Matt said. "So you want trivia?" I confirmed. "Exactly." Matt said.
"Okay." I said and made myself comfortable on the bed. "My favorite colour is blue. The last thing that made me cry was you- I laughed way too hard when you saw the crowd in the gym; and I don't do cat fights." I said, and Matt scribbled it all down. I took a deep breath and continued. "My birthday is on the 8th of August, I hate papayas, my favorite thing to eat is the strawberry cupcake that you get in the Cake Factory in NYC, I love shoes- especially pumps, my least favorite flowers are roses, I've maintained a journal from the age of ten...can you keep up?" I asked Matt, who was scribbling at the speed of light.
"Totally. Keep speaking." Matt said. I was about to continue, but then Matt said, "Tell me what you look for in a friend." That made me think. What did I look for in a friend? "Umm, a good sense of humour, it should be someone I can trust, their personality should be similar to mine, is a good listener, gives good advice, knows how to cheer me up when I'm down..." I trailed off into silence and just watched Matt write everything down. "That's exactly what I look for in a friend." He said. I gave a small smile.
"Matt! Bailey! Come downstairs now!" Jade called. Matt rolled his eyes at her tone. "She's way too bossy. Let's go." He grabbed his basketball before leading the way. Nate and Lynn were in the kitchen with Jade. "You guys got some work done I hope?" Lynn asked. "Totally." I answered. "Hey Nate. You play?" Matt asked. "A little. I'm better at soccer though." Nate replied haltingly. "That's fine. Jonah's coming over to play. Join us." Matt said and threw the ball to Nate. "Okay, I guess." Nate gave us an unsure look and followed Matt to the backyard.
