Chapter 6

Lorelai's woke up at an extremely early hour, which was incredibly not like her. She looked at her daughter who was sleeping peacefully next to her side and crept downstairs quietly. Lorelai reached the bottom of the stairs to find Luke making food in the kitchen.
"What are you doing up at this unearthly hour?" Luke questioned.
"I guess my body-clock decided not to like me today." Lorelai joked as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.
"Wait!" Lorelai yelled.
"What is it?" Luke asked, alarmed and confused.
"I don't feel sick." Lorelai said, absolutely amazed.
"Hey kid, you've stopped making your mother violently ill! I'm proud of you." Luke said as he knelt down and spoke to the tiny bump. Lorelai chuckled and was quite overwhelmed by his actions.
"Kid hasn't stopped the hormones though." She laughed as he looked up at her and noticed her eyes streaming.
"What's wrong?" He asked concerned.
"Nothing's wrong!" She exclaimed with a laugh. "I'm just so happy with you; happier than I've ever been! I don't want that to ever change." Lorelai continued with sentimentality in her voice.
"Lorelai, I have been waiting for you for years on end and I can't express my love for you in words. This baby is a creation from the two of us and our baby is going to be amazing!" Luke said excitedly as he put his hand to her stomach and stroked her hair with his fingertips.
"I love you Luke Danes." Lorelai said with a sweet smile.
"I love you Lorelai Gilmore." Luke said as their lips intertwined.
"I better book Rory an appointment." Lorelai said as she forced herself out of Luke's arms reluctantly.
"Okay, I better be getting off to the diner." Luke said as he planted one last kiss on her lips. "I hope it goes well." He added as he stroked her hand and then carried on out the front door.

Lorelai had just put the landline down when she heard Rory vomiting upstairs. Lorelai barged into the bathroom and held Rory's long brown hair whilst she endured a bout of morning sickness.
"I feel like utter crap." Rory stated as she flopped her head onto her mothers shoulder.
"I know hon, but it'll get better in time." She assured her daughter truthfully.
"I'm not moving all day." Rory said as she got up and lay on the bed.
"Change of plan." Lorelai began as she sat next to Rory. Her daughter look up at her mother with such spite in her eyes.
"I booked you an appointment for this morning." Lorelai said as she got off the bed and headed back downstairs. "Be ready in 20." Lorelai added as Rory face-planted her pillow.

Rory and Lorelai both headed for the Jeep anxiously and hopped in.
"I don't have a clue what to say Mom." Rory said nervously.
"I'll do most of the talking and you can fill in the... intimate bits." Lorelai told her daughter.
"I didn't know I had to talk about my sex life with the doctor, not like there's much of one." Rory said, hushing her voice at the end.
"What are you talking about? There must be one if you got pregnant." Lorelai asked with a confused tone.
"Things have just been different between Logan and I lately. I mean, thinking back most of if was probably my fault." Rory admitted to her mother.
"Hey, don't say that!" Lorelai yelled as she grabbed her daughters hand to give her some reassurance. After a while of silence and quite a hefty amount of driving, they parked up in a space. Just as they were about to step out, Lorelai yanked Rory's hand.
"Rory?" She asked.
"Yeah?" Rory replied.
"Are you going to tell Logan?" Lorelai spurted out, hoping the answer would be yes.
"I am." Rory said as she noticed her mother breath out a sigh of relief. "I want to be like you Mom. I'm not going to cut off ties with the father of my child for my benefit, plus the fact that I still love Logan. I'm going to be like you, not like Anna." Rory explained as Lorelai choked back tears of happiness.
"You don't know how relieved I am to hear you say that Rory." She said as she hugged her daughter tightly letting one tear roll down her cheek.
"Come on, let's go in." Lorelai said as she pulled away and wiped her cheek.
"You got it Mom." Rory said as she squeezed her mothers hand gently in return.

The Gilmore girls sat in the waiting room twiddling their thumbs for a minute until a woman came out of a clinical room calling out Rory's name.
"Come through please." The doctor ordered with a friendly smile.
"So, I see from what your mother told us on the phone, that you took a pregnancy test yesterday and it came out positive. Is that right?" The doctor asked Rory.
"Yes, that's correct." Rory replied nervously.
"Okay, well we'll need to take a urine sample just to finalise the pregnancy." The doctor said.
"That's fine." Rory responded calmly as she headed to the bathroom.

It was like being at Lorelai's appointment all over again except they knew why she was there. Many moments later, they were called through again.
"Hello again Rory, I can confirm that you are six weeks pregnant. Does that fit in with one of your last sexual encounters?" The doctor questioned.
"Erm, yeah that matches up with the last... encounter." Rory muttered, suddenly very nervous.
"Hon, it's okay." Lorelai assured her daughter and took her hand.
"I'm guessing you're Lorelai?" The doctor said whilst looking through the notes she had on the family.
"Yes, I'm her mother." Lorelai said with half a smile.
"I see you're five weeks pregnant!" The doctor said, extremely surprised. "I've never seen immediate family members this close within each other's pregnancies." She carried on.
"Yes I am, but could we carry on with my daughters assessment please?" Lorelai asked anxiously.
"Oh yes! Sorry Rory." The doctor apologised.
"It's fine." Rory said quietly.
"It looks like you're due around the 11th of August and Lorelai, you're due on the 18th of August. Rory began to feel nauseous and a mixture of emotions were flowing through her whole entire body.
"Excuse me." Rory said breathlessly before running into the toilets followed by her mother.
"Rory, hon." Lorelai said as Rory locked the cubicle door behind her and slid down the door and onto the floor.
"Rory, please let me in." Lorelai said in desperation.
"It's too real." Rory cried out to her as she was in the midst of having a panic attack.
"What's too real?" Lorelai asked, whilst trying to tug on the door.
"This whole pregnancy thing! It's been confirmed and then I have to tell everyone about me being with child when you haven't even told anybody about your pregnancy other than me and Luke! What are grandma and grandpa going to say?" Rory fretted as she placed her head on her knees.
"Rory." Lorelai said firmly. "We'll talk about it at home." Lorelai continued as she recalled everything she'd talked to Luke about and began to start thinking about it again.
"But-" Rory said as she began to contest.
"Come on Rory!" Lorelai shouted whilst she walked hastily back outside and headed for the car, followed by an upset Rory.

The whole journey home, Lorelai acted strangely hostile.
"Does Luke know?" Rory finally piped up.
"Yeah, he does." Lorelai said.
"Short and sweet." Rory whispered as she rolled her eyes.
"What do you want Rory? Would a detailed account of the conversation suffice?" Lorelai yelled sarcastically.
"Maybe it would if you could stop being such a bitch to me right now!" Rory roared at her mother.
"Fine. He said he'd support us both and that he still loves us the same and that won't change. He then gave me some encouragement, which is dwindling, and said it's going to be okay!" Lorelai shouted as she parked in her driveway and got out of her Jeep.
"Mom, wait!" Rory yelled to her mother who was fumbling to find her house keys.
"No." Lorelai said as Rory appeared at her side moments later. "I'm going to bed." Lorelai said as she opened the door and threw her coat and keys down on the table.
"But it's only three?" Rory questioned.
"Rory, I'm going to bed" Lorelai repeated lethargically as she grabbed the hand rail and walked upstairs.
