Chapter 11

It was the next Saturday morning after the argument with Richard and Emily and they were still unsure about whether it went well or not. Lorelai woke up to the sweet kisses being planted on her neck.
"Good morning." Lorelai whispered, still half-asleep, as she turned towards Luke.
"Good morning." Luke repeated as he kissed her passionately on the lips. As they parted, he placed a kiss on her stomach and cupped his hands around her waist. "Good morning to you two." Luke said as he talked to her growing stomach. Lorelai smiled and ran her fingers through his hair playfully.
"Hey, are you doing anything today?" He asked her inquisitively.
"I have nothing in particular planned, why'd you ask?" Lorelai questioned him curiously.
"April is coming round today, and I was wondering if you'd like to meet her officially?" Luke responded, making Lorelai's eyes light up.
"Definitely!" Lorelai answered, not taking any moments of hesitation. Suddenly, a pool of anxieties engulfed her and her mind was quickly flooded with worries and concerns.
"What time is she visiting?" Lorelai asked, trying to sound emotionally stable.
"Anna is going to drop her off at the diner at one." He replied, quivering as he mentioned her name.
"Does April know about the pregnancy?" Lorelai asked as the question sprang to mind.
"I was thinking we could tell her today?" Luke suggested, hoping she would agree.
"Okay, but don't make it the first thing you mention!" Lorelai told him sternly.
"I won't, I promise." Luke said before kissing her lips softly and then heading for the bathroom.

"Good morning." Lorelai said to Rory in a chirpy voice as she walked downstairs and entered the kitchen. Rory flung some pop-tarts on a plate and sat down before replying.
"Good morning." Rory said with a mouthful of food.
"Hungry?" Lorelai questioned as she began to make herself some of the leftover pop-tarts.
"Stress eating." Rory replied as she washed her food down with a cup of coffee.
"Stressed about what?" Lorelai questioned her as Luke suddenly appeared in the room.
"Stressed about what happened last night!" Rory yelled back at her mother. "Don't tell me you aren't the least bit bothered about the ordeal last night?" She asked Lorelai, sounding quite annoyed.
"It'll all blow over, they just need time to adjust." Luke added in, trying not to start a full blown argument.
"You should hope so, they'll be wanting to meet with you again very soon." Rory told him with a ton of emphasis on the very. Luke suddenly looked at Lorelai with a very concerned look on his face.
"Don't worry Luke, I'll tame my parents." Lorelai said reassuringly as she eyed Rory with a look that could kill.
"Pfft." Rory said sarcastically. "Like you've done a very good job with that in the past." She continued with a side-comment.
"Hey!" Lorelai shouted, taking offence.
"Sorry, but it's true." Rory responded as she opened up a magazine.
"Whatever. I'm going to get ready and run some errands." Lorelai said as she placed her crumb-filled plate in the sink. On her way out, she turned back and kissed Luke passionately on the lips.
"Wake up on the right side of the bed in future." Lorelai said to Rory as she rolled her eyes and continued to flick through the contents of Vogue.

Luke stood there silently, in shock, before deciding to tell Rory the news he had told Lorelai.
"April's coming round to the diner today." He finally blurted out. This made Rory look up and stare at him with perplexity.
"Does this mean..." Rory hesitated, trying to be sensitive towards the sore subject.
"Yes, I would like you and Lorelai to meet April officially." Luke finished off her sentence.
"Yes!" Rory shouted out as she stood up and hugged him.
"Ouch." Luke accidentally let out as a sharp pain seared through his back where Lorelai's nails had scratched him nights before.
"Ah, I see." Rory said awkwardly as she caught onto the reason behind his awfully pained expression. He let out a nervous laugh before changing the subject back to the previous topic.
"So, be at the diner for around two?" He asked, hoping she hadn't arranged anything for the day.
"Two it is." Rory replied happily as she placed her plate and cup in the sink and headed into her bedroom to get ready.
