Thalia spared a look towards Thorin, he still wasn't moving and a lump formed in her throat knowing that she might never get to speak with Thorin again; this was not how it was all meant to end.
It had never crossed her mind that she would never get to make things right with Thorin, that it could all end like this and Thalia wished that they hadn't parted on such bad terms.
Azog eyed the witch, he wasn't going to make the same mistake that he had made last time; there was no number of tricks that were going to keep her safe this time.
Twirling her stormbringer, Thalia took a couple of deep breathes knowing that she was going to win this and she had to do it quickly if there was any chance of her saving Thorin from his injuries.
"Focus Thalia," a voice said in Thalia's head, she was almost grateful to know that her father was looking down on her now; she hadn't heard his voice in a while and it was sort of comforting to hear it now.
Azog charged forward preparing to end the witch, he wasn't going to allow her a chance to get anywhere near Thorin; the two lovers would die on this battle field.
Thalia dodged the charge and slashed at Azog, she was almost glad that she didn't slip on the ice; it was all broken and she was determined to stay away from the ice cold water.
Growling under his breath, Azog glared at the witch knowing that things could not end like they did last time; his master would not tolerate the daughter of Poseidon defeating him here.
It was important that the mountain fell so that they could control area, that would happen soon enough and the line of Durin would end here and now.
Azog stabbed his blade towards Thalia, clashing with stormbringer and glaring at the blonde that was doing her best to hold him off.
Gritting her teeth, Thalia struggled under the force of Azog's attack and she slipped a little since she couldn't get a proper grip on the ice; stumbled backwards, Thalia was quick to right herself before Azog leapt at her.
The attack completely knocked her off balance and she hissed at the blade caught her left arm, Thalia eyed the deep cut and she knew that it would need stitches.
She blocked the next attack from Azog and held back a hiss at the pain in her left arm, it protested at the force that she had to use to block another attack.
Azog grinned staring at Thalia, she was exhausted and even he could see that; she was covered in bruises and cuts, something that would make his defeat even easier.
Hooking his blades with stormbringer, Azog smiled ripping the blade from her hands and watched as it slid away from them on the ice; he turned to look at Thalia after watching the sword come to a stop.
Thalia swallowed slowly taking a step back, her eyes flickering between stormbringer and orcrist; there was no way that she could dodge around Azog to reach either of them.
Continuing to back up, Thalia tried to think about what was going to happen now; she felt sick and she had no idea what she was going to do now that she was separated from her sword.
"The water Thalia..." Poseidon whispered in her mind, it gave Thalia a small idea and she hoped that she wasn't going to regret what she was about to do.
Slowly moving back towards the large break in the ice, Thalia was almost relieved that Azog hadn't just run her through; it would have been a quick death for her then.
Azog grinned pleased that this fight hadn't taken as long as his last one, the witch would die here and he would be able to give his master what he desired most.
"And so ends the line of Durin," Azog stated moving to stab Thalia, his blade moving quickly and Thalia quickly flicked her hands using all of the strength that she had on this dangerous move.
The water beneath their feet moved at Thalia's movement, raising up and around the two figures encasing them; clenching her fists, Thalia held her breath praying that this would work.
The water turned into ice and the two figures stood completely frozen, Azog's blade extremely close to getting its mark; the scene was silent as the ice completely solidified.
Cracking came from the ice and slowly part of it turned back into water allowing Thalia to drop to the floor coughing; she stared at the still frozen form on Azog amazed that her plan had worked.
Slowly getting to her unsteady feet, Thalia shivered at the cold and wondered if this would work; she couldn't leave him like that, he had to be killed.
Walking towards her sword, Thalia picked up stormbringer and looked back at Azog knowing that this had to be done; she walked slowly back towards him and prepared herself for what came next.
Twisting the sword in her hands, Thalia took a deep breath before she slowly started to unmelt the ice and drove stormbringer through Azog's back.
The pale orc made a cry of pain and swung his arm back smacking Thalia in the face, she fell to the floor and watched as Azog dropped to his knees and tried to grab onto the sword that was impaled in his back.
He made choking noises as blood started to fill his throat and Thalia watched as he dropped forward and crashed into the floor.
She stayed in her place for a moment before realising that Azog wasn't going to get up, Thalia winced getting to her feet; she could feel blood trailing down her face but that didn't matter right now.
Making her way over to Thorin, Thalia dropped down to her knees and shakily moved to see if he was okay; a lump formed in her throat as she realised that he was a little cold, she had no idea what she was going to do.
"You can't be dead," Thalia whispered with tears rolling down her face, she took his hand in hers wishing that he would wake up; he was meant to be King under the Mountain now.
Swallowing the lump in her throat, Thalia shook her head knowing that she had to at least try to fix this; she closed her eyes and focusing on trying to heal Thorin's injuries.
Thalia gasped when she felt her energy slip away from her, she opened her eyes and looked down at Thorin; disappointment filled her when he didn't do anything, instead he lay still like he had before.
Tears trailed down her face and the sun seemed to disappear behind storm clouds as Thalia stared at Thorin; every inch of her praying that he would move or give some sign that he was okay.
"I love you," Thalia said trying to control herself, she pressed a kiss to the top of his head and closed her eyes when his head was resting on her lap.
There was silence around them and Thalia could no longer hear the sounds of battle below, she was barely paying attention as the eagles arrived and brought help to the battle below.
Taking a stealthy breath, Thalia brushed her fingers through Thorin's hair knowing that she had to give it one last chance; she felt her hands shake as she moved to rest her hands over the wound that Azog had given him.
Closing her eyes, Thalia focused on what she was doing hoping that this would work and she jumped a little as she felt a splash of rain on her cheek; before she knew what was happening it was throwing it down.
Her head started to swim and Thalia felt a sharp pain in her abdomen, she let out a breath before she felt herself falling backwards; her head smacked against the ice behind her.
The last thing that Thalia heard before she passed out was someone screaming her name.
