Above is the image for my Joanna Arc. Certain readers *who know of the sitch* forgive me.

Sarah's POV
Me and Joanna. Joanna and me. Or is the correct wording Joanna and I? "Sarah, if you would kindly stop staring at me like I've grown wings. I might be able to get these bags to the luggage area."
"I'm sorry. It is quite difficult to keep my eyes off such a rare and delicate looking beauty. Not to mention I'm freaking out. Just 30 minutes and I'll be going to my grandparents. They're in Oklahoma, do you have any idea how long it's been since I've been there?"

"Listen, you're freaking out. Meaning you're not taking a breath of air. Relax and calm down." Freaking out is an understatement. This is kind of like the first time I'm meeting them. Not really.

I had not seen my grandparents in a while, the probably would not even recognise me. "I'm going to go get us some coffee, and for you I assume ten donuts?"

"Yeah thanks, Jo. " Joanna let out a weary sigh and turned to go fetch the coffee and donuts. I was left with some time to gather my thoughts. This is my grandparents I'm talking about, and it's just me seeing them. Me all by myself. Terrified, lonely and desperately needing someone to talk to, I sat down in the uncomfortable metal chair. One thing the chair did offer was stability, it was helping me to stay up and not fall over unconscious like I wanted to.

Maybe I am making a mistake. Maybe this is something better suited for another time.

Or another life.

Calm down and pull yourself together, Sar. I closed my eyes and just listened to the sound of each everything. One good thing about airports, is not that their food are overly sugary, is that you can lose yourself in the noise. There isn't a moment of silence where you can think of or ponder a negative thought. Children running and screaming joyously at one another, adults ordering children to stop running and the sound of wheels skidding along the tiled floors.

"A life of noise is better than a moment of silence," I murmured to myself as I listened to the bustling and noisy life. I wondered where all these people were going. Business trips, vacations or just for the experience? "I got the coffee. Also they ran out of donuts so I got you some chocolate éclairs instead. Hey?" Joanna's voice was so unlike the others. It was clear and demanding, firm yet gentle and always sounded like she was singing instead of speaking. Almost like an angel.

"No it's fine, any sweets is better than nothing at all." She saw through me somehow and set the coffees and sweet treats down. Silence was all that was between us as she drank and I ate and drank. The coffee was bitter and the donuts overly sweet. It reminded me of myself. On the outside I was like a donut, coated in sugar and all smiles and sweetness. Beneath that I was like coffee, bitter and warm, unwanted and yet needed at the same time. Such a paradox.

A ding filled the air around the airport as the static voice of the flight attendant was heard. "Good day all passengers, flight 10:50 to Oklahoma will depart in 10 minutes. We advise you to leave withing five minutes to find your seats. Good day and safe travels." A repeated ding was the final mark before some people around us started going to the entrance to the plane.

"It's almost time." Joanna looked dejectedly down at her coffee. Her reflection was clear from where I sat and I saw sadness in her usually warm eyes. Taking courage I put my hand over hers. "I'm going to be fine, Jo, you don't have to worry about me. I'll call you when I reach my grandparents place okay?" Silence covered us like a blanket and it was just the two of us. No one else mattered in this moment, our own little bubble. "I'm going to miss you, Sarah."
"As I will miss you, Joanna."

"Although you might have a problem. Remember your chastity belt?"
"Yes, what of it?"
"You can't wash with it on or use the bathroom with it."
She pulled her hand out from under mine and fished in her pocket for something. She finally found what she was looking for and pulled out a silver key. "This is a second key, just in case."
"But I'm-"
"Going to need it, trust me. Also if you feel try urge to 'take care of business' by yourself I put in a few toys."

I bit into my bottom lip to keep from laughing and to resist telling her how I hated toys. "Thank you. " Was all I could muster saying with my clenched teeth. "Flight to Oklahoma in 5 minutes," The flight attendants static voice penetrated the bubble and I was reminded of the silent clock counting down.
Joanna put the remaining donuts and éclairs in a brown bag and handed it to me,"I'll walk you to the plane." She grabbed one bag and I grabbed the other one with the duffel bag resting on it. So much awaited me beyond those gates and so much would be waiting for me when I came back.

Walking into the plane was difficult because that was Joanna's stop. Finding my seat quickly, I looked out the window one last time at Joanna. She saw me and gave me a final wave as the plane started ascending. "Bye, I love you," I yelled to her, even though I knew she could not hear anything."BYE. BYE. Bye... bye..." Where is the good in this goodbye?

"All passengers, please , do not get up off your seats until we are in the air. Thank you. " Another flight attendants voice was heard through a softer speaker. This flight was going to take a while and I started wondering what I would do to busy myself.

"Was that your girlfriend?" A passenger next to me tapped my arm. I looked over and saw a really cute boy. He had dark hair that sat in a fringe in front of his right eye (it was also very messy), fair skin and grey eyes that completely hypnotised me. "What makes you say that?"
"Well you seem to have a lingering goodbye despite the fact that she can't hear you."
"No, she's my best friend not my girlfriend."

"Well that's a good thing," He gently pulled my hand up to his lips and gave it a light peck. "A beauty such as you should be in the arms of a wonderful man." I pulled my hand quickly away and held it firmly to my chest. "That is very flattering but I do have a man and he happens to be my boyfriend so if you would kindly never touch me again." He held up his hands in a silent surrender. " I didn't mean to offend, Miss, I was just stating the obvious."

"Sarah."
"Huh? " He let his hands fall at his sides to rest on the arm rest. "My name it's Sarah."
"My names Alec Dark." I gave him a look over. Considering he had such fair skin it was quite ironic. "Ironic isn't it?" Quite.
"Anyway where you going, Sarah?"
"I'm going to visit my grandparents for the remainder of the holiday."
"I'm going to work for some old folk's grandchild. Probably a girl considering I'm going to be a twenty four - seven butler for the brat." To think he hadn't even met the boy or girl and he was already judging him or her. "That's nice, Alec, anyway enjoy the flight."

I took out my phone and plugged in my headphones, losing myself in the calming track of Bach. Let this trip be a quick and painless one with this 'flight friend' of mine.

I feel like I've been going at a fast pace so I'm hoping this one is slow and calm enough for you.

1. Did anyone notice that there was no mention of Jerry arriving?
2. Would Joanna and Sarah make a cute couple?

3. Does this Alec guy seem like a sketchy character to you?

That's all hope you enjoyed.
