I was at a desk writing as Maverick was working on something three desks behind me. I felt a tap on my shoulder causing me to look up. It was Viper.
Aww Crap..
"Follow me to my office Son." Viper says quietly. I notice Maverick look up watching me walk by when I passed her a small peice of paper behind my back. I swallowed as I went through the doorway of Vipers office. He closed the door behind me and the blinds.
"Son," Viper says.
"Yes sir?" I say standing.
"Scuttlebutt is You and Maverick are an item." Viper says.
"Sir?" I say confused.
"You know what I am saying Kazansky." Viper says.
Well..Jigs up..
"Sir," I say sweat forming on my forehead, "We're more than an item."
Viper crossed his arms.
"How long has this been going on Kazansky?" Viper asked.
"Since after we met the first day, Sir." I say nervously.
"I see.." Viper says.
"And sir we're not an item. We used to be. We're together, Sir." I say.
I didnt want Maverick to lose her job because of me.
"And Maverick?" Viper says.
"Pregnant..Sir." I say.
"Well..." Viper says as his posture changes, "Congratulations!"
I let out a breath I was holding in.
"I can't let superior know about this or he won't be as forgiving as I am Kazansky. So try your hardest to hide it around him." Viper said.
"Yes sir." I say smiling, "Thank you sir."
"Maverick will be grounded till this baby is born. We don't want it to be hurt." Viper says, "I have kids of my own so I know how important this child is to you two."
"Y-Yes sir." I say nodding.
"Good luck Son." Viper says as I turn to leave in the doorway.
"Thank you sir." I say turning back and then I turned leaving for good.
That was close..too close for me.
