When I get home, I bathe and dry off. My mom has laid out one of her old dresses for me. She also braids my hair up. Prim and I walk to the city circle, and then we get in line. Prim starts to freak out. "Prim it's okay it's okay. They're just taking a little blood to check to see if your really prim and if I'm really Katniss" I tell her. She seems to calm down after I tell her that. We go to the roped off sections, she gets in the back with the 12 year old females and I go to the middle where the 16 year old girls are. I look to my left and find Peeta looking at me. We smile at each other. The I look up at the very front and I find Gale. He's facing fowards. Just then mayor Undersee comes on stage and reads the Treaty of Treason. Then 12's escort Effie Trinket-Abernathy comes up and says to us "Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor. Let's pick the names, shall we? As always, ladies first." She walks over to the bowl, picks a slip, and reads the name "PRIMROSE EVERDEEN" I suck in a breath at the realization of what I must do. "I VOLUNTEER!!! I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!!!" "Oh my our very first volunteer. What is your name dear?" She asks as I make my way up the stage stairs. I can hear prim yelling and crying in the background. Gale takes her to mom. I look at Peeta's pale face, and I realize that I'll never see him again. "Katniss Everdeen" I tell her. "Don't want sissy to steal the glory do we? Now for the boys. Haymitch, my dear husband will now pick the name" He walks over to the bowl, hands the slip to Effie, and she reads it. "Gale Hawthorne!!!" What??? Now Gale too? Then I notice something. Peeta is walking fowards. "I VOLUNTEER TO GO TO THE HUNGER GAMES IN PLACE OF GALE!!!" No Peeta, what have you done?!! Peeta walks on stage, and Effie repeats the process she did with me. She tells me and Peeta to shake hands, but instead he pulls me in for a hug, and I lean up and kiss him. My tongue slips into his mouth, and we start to make out. Peeta starts kissing me down my neck. Then 2 peacekeepers pull us apart, and escort us to the Justice Building where we will be given an hour to say goodbye to our families. When everything finally sinks in, I realize what has happened. I'm going into the hunger games, and with my lover no less.
*AUTHOR'S NOTE*
Sorry for the uber short chapter guys, I was trying to find a good way to end it, but this is all I could think of. I promise the next one will be over 1000 words. It should be out either later tonight or tomorrow morning. It depends on how late I stay up and if I want to read other people's stories or work on mine. That's prob gonna be the only update tomorrow though cause I got church, and then I help with 2 year olds, and me and fiancé have to pick a wedding date and plan a little!!! Anyways I don't think y'all care about my personal life. Thanks for reading! There were some plot twists, like Gale getting reaped, and the heated make out scene. Oh yeah ps in this book I might give a couple of details, but I'm not a dirty writer so if you are a dirty reader (I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, I like the occasional scene too) but my book won't have a lot of that and there will be some religion in here too so please enjoy and vote and comment and follow me and I'll follow you back
