Panchali - Lady Of Purity

Prologue

I was just wandering around the garden.

Playing with my mates when all of a sudden a light appeared.

It was my friend Lord Narada.

At his sight all my friends ran out of the garden.

"Whenever you come please tell and come. See how all my friends got scared of you and ran away??" I asked with a fed up tone.

"Should I get permission before I visit my friend?" He asked with a mischievous smile.

I understood to what he will come to the end, and so, I immediately changed the topic.

"Reason for your arrival?" I asked him.

"Do I need reason to meet my friend??" He asked once again with that mischievous smile.

"Hey Mahadev please do save me today...... Stop playing your games and come to the point Narada Munivar" I said with a annoyed tone.

"Okay, okay relax Devi. You are summoned by all the Gods and Devas." He said.

"By all Gods and Devas??" I thought.

Closed and opened my eyes to see a place where I had never been in this one millennium.

Then I got to see all the Devas, Gods and Goddesses who welcomed me warmly.

I was first greeted by Lord Shiva.

"Krishnaa I hope you are aware of the current scenario of the Earth." He said with a smile and came to the point directly.

"Yes my lord" I told him.

"And so you will be aware of King Drupada performing putrakami yajna to get a son and daughter." Asked Lord Brahma.

I understood to what they are arriving too. I am to be born as the daughter of King Drupada.

And this is going to be my fifth incarnation in this world. And I remembered in my previous birth I was born as the daughter of the Great King Nala and Queen Damayanti, Nalayani.

Oh no......

I had asked for a husband with fourteen qualities to Lord Shiva and he pleased with my devotion told that there can be no one in this world with all such qualities within one and he said I will get married to fourteen men in my next birth!!!!

Who are those fourteen I am to get married???

With all these thoughts going in my mind I was disturbed by the voice Lord Vishnu.

"Yes you are going to get married to the men with those fourteen qualities but not fourteen but only five men." He said as he had read my thoughts.

I was dumb struck.

I wish I had never asked for such boon, I thought.

"You can't change what had happened Devi Krishnaa." I had the Goddesses of wealth to speak.

"You need not worry about anything as you will have the mighty Pandavas as your husbands." The mighty Goddesses Parvathi said.

HUSBANDS!!!! I thought.

"Not only that you will have the mighty warriors as your brothers, father, in-laws, and sons. Apart from them all you will have Lord Vishnu as your closest friend which may make people even to doubt your relationship with him." The Goddesses of wisdom spoke.

Already I am to get married to five men and now a friend because of whom I will be degraded more, I thought.

"Your life in Earth isn't going to be that easy Sakhi." Narayan spoke. 

"You are born to destruct all the clans and reinforce a new generation with new thoughts.

You will be the reason for the destruction of the Kuru Clan.

You will be the Samratni but will be treated lower than a daasi.

You will be a truthful wife but will be called as whore.

You will have many sons but none will survive.

Yet all these will be bore by you just to install Dharma in the Earth."

He went on saying the purpose of my birth in this world.

As he went on saying I started like my role in the earth.

He finished his leela and asked "Are you interested to be born as Draupadi???"

I was confused. Usually Gods don't ask permission from us to make us play the role they give but they are asking which means my life will not be bed of roses as usual.

"Yes life is never bed of roses but don't worry, at each difficult point of your life we all the goddesses will reside in you and give you the strength to stand against any danger" Devi Lakshmi spoke.

And I nodded smilingly at her.

"So are you ready to leave??" All the Devas asked.

"YES but I request you to make me remember the purpose of my life during my difficult times Govinda" I addressed Narayan.

And he nodded in yes.

"Before I leave I would like to meet my friends and mother." I requested them with a doubt and to my surprise they approved for it.

I meet them all and entered the yajna to become the dutiful daughter, to become the loyal wife, to become the responsible daughter-in-law, to become the caring mother and to become the perfect Queen.

I remembered what my mom said, "If all Gods and Devas are sending you means then there is something really dangerous, yet I am proud that my daughter is selected for it and I am sure you will full-fill your work properly." My mom blessed me and sent.

As I entered my memory about my identity started to collapse and I fainted.

Then I got conscious and I was stilled inside the fire. I felt like it has been many hours but I guess it was just few seconds.

I didn't remember my talk with gods or my previous birth. Just my name and few talents. Thats all I remember now.

And now it was my time to emerge out of the holy fire!!!!

Hello all. This is my first historical work.

So how is it guys???

Sorry for any mistakes. Please do feel free to point it out.

This is purely my own imagination and all the scenes will be similar to that of Star Plus Mahabharat because its only through that show I got inspired to write this work. And it will be similar to Suryaputra Karna of Sony T.V.

And yes its modern era so my style of writing will be different. So don't pin point me for using modern words. I will try my level best to write it in a way of those times.
