Chloe's Pov

"Come on, you're going to be late dear." Mom said as she parks the car in front of the school.

"But Mom! It's just going to be the same old story all over again...just like the past 3 times..."

"But this time, Henri is here with you!" Mom tries to encourage me.

Henri Peters is my cousin who goes to this school, Stardon High, and he is the reason my mom chose for me to go to this school to try and help me fit in.

"Yeah, but he isn't here today, is he..." I say, looking down at my worn out trainers.

* School bells rings *

"OMG I am going to be late!" I quickly step out of the car and say a quick goodbye to my Mom. I then rush towards the entrance as fast as possible. I definitely do not want to be late for the first day of school.

I walked through the hallway intent on getting the schedule for my classes.

"Who IS she?"

"Ewww, look at her clothes! I bet she fished them out of the dumpster..."

"Look at those braces!"

I squeeze my eyes shut and keep my head down, trying to ignore the stares and whispers I was getting all...over..again. Will this never end? I am too focused on avoiding everyone's gazes that I hadn't noticed someone's foot stuck out in the hallway. Sure enough, I trip over it and land face first on the cold, hard floor, my notebooks and stationary splaying out around me.

"Looks like she's clumsy as well!"

" Maybe she can't see so well with those glasses blocking her way!"

" Or maybe she should have her eyes checked before she ends up falling off the roof!" People laugh while others sneer and gossip in their cliques.

I quickly scramble up and try to pick my notebooks and stationery off the floor, but everyone was kicking it all over the place, probably trying to take the mickey out of me.

"You can't do any better, so stop scoffing and actually apologise to this girl here!" A female voice echoed down the hallway. A girl wearing glasses, a loose blouse and baby-blue skirt came up to me.

"Thanks a lot Silena, you just took all the fun out of it." Said a girl with bleach blonde hair, probably a cheerleader.

"Shut up Kim! It has nothing to do with you! You should get to class or else you'll land yourself into another detention with Ms Leyzandra again." Silena retorted, while giving the onlookers a cold stare.

Kim gave a small hmph before flicking her hair back and strutting off to class.

"I'm so sorry about what happened to you , people in this school are so prejudiced sometimes. By the way, I'm Silena " She says, giving me an apologetic look.

"It...It's ok...this happens to me all the time. I mean, every high school always has the drag, nerdy, ugly girl that people bully, and it so happens to be me... everytime. Oh, and I'm Chloe, Chloe Andinez." I reply softly, not daring to meet Silena's eyes.

"Well, I don't think so, because the typical story of these girls always have friends to be there for them. I've just about had enough of everyone in this school, so what do you think, friends?" She replies confidently.

"...Friends." I hesitate, but a sense of gratitude fills me up, as I shake hands with Silena

.

"Just so you know, that girl just now was Kim, Kim Cothane. She is the school's Queen Bee, head cheerleader, has a "hot boyfriend", blonde hair, blue eyes...and a face caked in makeup." Silena added, before we had to part ways to go for our respective classes.

Without Silena there with me, classes weren't much better, it feels like I'm back in my old schools again, with people throwing scrunched up balls of paper at me, whispering behind my back, and even someone attempting to steal my worksheet and throw it into the bin. I'm just glad that Silena has offered to help me around these days...
