Two months have passed since the last chapter. Just to catch people up on the events that happened in that period, Adam completely healed. He only stayed in the hospital for about three weeks, but still practically lived there because of Tommy. Tommy, however, was in the hospital for a longer amount of time. He miraculously healed in a short amount of time, too.
Now on with the story.
Adam's POV:
It was the day. I opened my eyes to see Tommy still sleeping in his hospital bed. Emily had actually gone home, though she really regreted it. I'm sure she would be back before I knew it, too. I stood up, remembering I still had a cast on my left arm, and sighed. I couldn't wait to get the ugly thing off my arm. I had wanted to be able to hold Tommy properly when he was released from the hospital.
Tommy's jaw had healed fairly quickly, allowing us to be able to talk over things, check his memory, and most importantly, kiss (though it wasn't easy with the heart moniter on him going crazy). His ribs and leg were healed finally, too. The doctors had debated for a few days about letting him go, too, because they were convinced he had a concussion. But I knew he didn't.
Today he would be let go.
"Tommy," I whispered as I brushed his floppy, blonde hair off his forehead, planting a small kiss where the hair had covered his face. I saw a smirk appear on his beautiful face as his eyes fluttered open. "Today is the day, babe."
"Finally..." Tommy sighed. Hand grasped the back of my neck gently, pulling me down into a kiss that sent the heart moniter on a loud, beeping rage. We both broke off, laughing wildly.
The door opened, letting Emily, Darren, and Doctor Anderson into the room. Emily had a small, wrapped box in her hand while Darren was holding her other hand. Adorable I thought to myself. Darren looked like he fit with Emily while Xadrian just looked like a bitch who needed to be disciplined.
"Well Tommy...are you going to miss this room?" The doctor chuckled as he checked my boyfriend's stats.
"Not one bit. I'll be happy to get out of here," Tommy replied smiling. God, he was gorgeous.
Anderson started unhooking Tommy from all the moniters and machienes until he was officially free from all the cords. "You're free to go. You know where your clothes are, so just leave the gown in the bathroom. It's been nice knowing you all," He announce as he left the room. Tommy got off the bed and stood for the first time in months, stretching himself out and smiling sheepishly. I wrapped my hands around his thin waist, kissing his neck.
"Welcome back to the living," I joked. Tommy laughed and pushed past me to the bathroom. I turned my attention to Emily and Darren who were both talking quietly.
"What's in the box?" I asked her. She looked up at me with big eyes.
"It's a present for you two. I thought it's kind of a special occasion, so you both deserve a small suprise.." she explained, trailing off. She handed me the box and Tommy walked out of the bathroom in the clothes he had been nearly murdered in, though they weren't bloodstained anymore.
Tommy removed the top. Two rings were inside, both engraved with each other's names on them.
"They're promise rings. You're supposed to replace them with engagement rings..." Darren chimed. I looked up at Tommy and he was obviously holding back tears. I pulled the ring that said "Adam Lambert" on it and placed it on his finger. He took the other ring that said "Tommy Joe Ratliff" and placed it on mine. Emily and Darren clapped loudly and we all laughed. We all hugged and thanked each other for vairous things.
Tommy's POV:
Emily was officially the best "fan" that Adam and I had. She wasn't exactly a fan anymore, either. She was a friend. A close one, at that. We all walked out of the hospital together, then bid Emily and Darren fairwell until we met again. Adam had rented a car while we were gone? What? Adam examined my expression and chuckled.
"What happened while I was 'dead'?" I asked, smiling.
"Not much. Emily called the St. Cloud Police Department and got Xadrian arrested. He's got two years in prison now, so we should be safe. Even with that, I moved our stuff to a new hotel that's much closer to Emily and it's really nice. I went shopping, too, and bought you a couple new outfits and some movies..." Adam paused for a minute. "I really like it here, Tommy. I don't want to leave."
I looked over at Adam who's eyes were focused on the road. "I like it too, but what about...well, everything! Our whole lives revolve around our music, so we can't just drop everything to live here!"
Adam sighed, but said nothing. What was he thinking! Would he really give up his entire career to move to this town?
Or was there something else he was planning?
Alright, the story is back on track! Xadrian is gone. Yay!
