Emily's POV:
It was nearly six and I was sitting in my car trying to regulate my breathing; I hadn't hung out with Cole alone since I was about fourteen, and the last time that happened, we kissed. I didn't know what he wanted from me, if anything, and was too nervous to move. Somehow, I pulled out of the parking lot and drove towards his house.
When I arrived at the old, brick house, Cole was sitting on his steps texting someone, and I rolled down the window. "Get in here you dork!" He looked up at me, grinning, and ran over to my car. Being the kind of close friend that we were, I immediantly grabbed his hand to hold while I was driving. I didn't really know where to drive him so I just started toward down town, hoping we would find something to do down there. I parked my car by the House of Pizza and hopped out, going around to the other side to join Cole.
"So what should we do? It's completely up to you!" I smiled at him.
He flashed a grin back, then was silent for a moment. "Wait, I know what we're going to do. Come on!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the sidewalk. We both shuffled down the street together to God knows where in the bitter autumn weather. I was, honestly, at my happiest with him.
"I know this great place down here that has amazing oriental food. I hope you don't mind," he explained cheerily.
I nodded in response, gripping his hand tighter. The cold weather chilled me to the bone and I was just waiting to get inside a building.
Tommy's POV:
Adam had been a bit jittery since we arrived at the place, so I figured something was up; I didn't want to ask though, because this was the nicest thing Adam had ever done for me. I quietly sipped on my drink and examined our surroundings until Adam unexpectedly grabbed my hand from across the table.
"I need...to ask you something, Tommy," He stuttered. What the hell was bothering him so much?
"Listen...we've only been together for a few weeks, and it's been the most amazing time of my life. You are so great Tommy, I can't even explain what you do to me, because there aren't strong enough words for something like that. I love you so much and..." he reached into his pocket.
Now I understood what was going on. Adam reached into his pocket and pulled out a little black box and placed it in my hand. I gasped quietly.
"Tommy Joe Ratliff, I love you more that anything. Would you do me the extrodinary honor of becoming my husband?"
I opened the box and inside was a ring. "Adam..." I barely whispered. I was about to cry. As tears started spilling out of my eyes, I nodded my head quickly. He rose out of his seat and knelt beside me, taking the ring out and placing it on my ring finger, then kissing me gently on the lips. I wanted him more than ever at that moment; I finally knew he would be mine and only be mine.
Mine....mine...mine....
Katherine's POV:
I had just started making some dinner for myself since no one was home yet when the doorbell rung. I turned the heat down on the stovetop and ran to open the door. I didn't really recognize his face, but he matched the description of Emily's new boyfriend, Darren.
"Who are you?" I asked cautiously, wiping my slightly dampened forehead with the back of my hand.
"Darren, your friend's boyfriend. Do you know where Emily is? She hasn't answered any of my texts or calls today," he said slowly. I invited him in and plainly told him I didn't know because I didn't. I hadn't really talked with Emily much for about two days.
