Who the hell does he think he is, telling me I have no idea what it's like to be in love? Obviously, I do. Like he's one to judge, he said it himself; he's never felt it. He doesn't feel the way my heart leaps when I'm with Liam, or the way he can just make me smile instantly. Zayn just doesn't get it.

It's been a week since the holidays, and there's only a few more until the next holidays. I have no idea what I'm gonna do, but I guess I should go back home. It's become a chore, and I've put it off for as long as I can, but now it really needs to be done. Liam's going to Florida, so I won't even have his company around. I'll just be alone in a huge, crowded house. A house, but never a home.

I'm searching through my locker when I feel two hands clamp down on my waist. I jump in shock and spin around, my lips twisting into a thin smile as I come face to face with Liam.

"Oh, hi," I say lazily.

"Hey!" He leans in to peck my forehead. "Need a hand?"

"Er, grabbing my textbook? I think I can manage," I joke.

He smiles. "Okay. If you insist. Hey, I've been meaning to ask you; how'd you like my speech?" He looks at me expectantly.

I pause for a minute. Do I be honest? No, I can't hurt his feelings. And really, it was a nice speech. Just a little extravagant. "I loved it!" I plaster a reassuring smile to my face.

His eyes light up and I feel so bad for lying to him. It obviously meant a lot to him. But, as much as I hate to say it, Zayn's right; Liam doesn't really know me at all. If he thought doing what he did in English a few days ago was something I liked, he's wrong. But what scares me more is how Zayn knew me so well. Didn't I only tell him those things once?

"Really?" Liam says, hugging me tight. "Oh! I knew you'd like it! I worked really hard on it. I can print you a copy, if you'd like."

"That'd be, uh, great."

"Listen," he says warmly, looking me right in the eyes. He holds my waist gently, as if I'll break in two. He always does that - treats me so fragile. And I don't know if I like it. "I have piano practice later, you should join me."

There isn't anything else I could do otherwise, except study, so I nod. "Sure," I tell him. "I'll be there."

"Great!" He leans in and brushes his lips over mine. "I'll see you later. I gotta do some extra credit stuff for Eco."

"Like you need it," I smirk.

He laughs. "They all count! If I want to get into Oxford, I need everything I can get."

I watch as he blows me a kiss and walks off down the hall. It's Sunday, meaning hardly anyone's around. And also meaning I have nothing to do. Grabbing my History textbook, I shut my locker and walk back to my dorm to do some quick study before Liam's piano practice. But I don't get very far when Avery stops me.
