Chapter 8: why is this happening?

I stood there trembling as I read the second piece of paper. There were heaps and heaps of them. I can't believe it. I have another break down and throw the closest thing I can find. It's the fake fruit and the bowl that holds it all. It makes a loud smash against the wall and I fall to my knees and scream. Jason comes running in. When he sees me crying in the middle of the broken rubble and plastic fruit he curses

"What the hell Delilah!?" he yells. Mackenzie comes running in. And all I can do is scream.

"Maybe I should go..." he says awkwardly. Jason comes and sits next to me and hugs me.

"What is it?" he asks me. But I can't tell him. I'm too busy erupting into screams and cries. I can see Mackenzie just standing there not knowing what to do.

"Delilah!" Jason yells. "How can I help you if I don't know what wrong with you!?" he's angry but I still can't say anything.

I point at the letters that Mackenzie has picked up and I can see it in his face too

"It's her dad" he whispers. I can just hear him over my frantic panic. And then I feel it. I freeze. I even stop crying

"Shit" Mackenzie says as he sees me look down at my leg. Blood drips down onto the floor and I look up at Jason. Then as I pass out he catches me

"What the hell is it now?!" Jason yelled

"Blood!" Mackenzie cried "she's scared of the blood!" Jason curses as he runs up the stairs to grab the first aid kit. Mackenzie does nothing. He just keeps reading the letters from dad. Jason comes back and rubs the cuts with an alcohol scrub then bandages it.

"Mackenzie. Put the stupid letters down and take her to her room" Jason orders.

"Why can't you!?" Mackenzie complains

"Because I need to clean it all up!" Jason yells again and Mackenzie knows not to argue anymore. He picks me up and carries me up the stairs to my room. He puts me on my bed carefully then sits on the edge of the bed and puts his head in his hands

"Look at what I've done" he said. I don't know if he's talking to himself or not "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I was just so happy that Melissa liked me back that I didn't believe my best friends over her" I still didn't know if he was talking to himself

"I-I didn't even mean to tell her all that stuff. It's just... I can't believe I did that to you Delilah. I wouldn't blame you if you hated me for the rest of your life. I was just so wrapped up in losing my vir..." before he could finish Jason calls him. He kisses me on the forehead before leaving. So my suspicions were right. Last night when Jason called him, him and Melissa were having... moving on.

I was out till the next morning.

"Dee-dee. You have to get up" he told me as he shook me "its school time" I rose like a zombie from the grave and Jason jumped. I must look like a troll again.

"God all the girls I've been with look like a princess when they get up... so why do you look like Shrek?" Jason teased. It was too early. I back handed him and pointed to the door.

"Someone's got their period" Jason sulked as he rubbed his face. My head snapped over to where he was standing and I death stared him. He screamed and ran from the room.

I pulled the bandage off my leg and got in the shower. The water felt amazing. Unlike Mackenzie's shower, mine had the massage setting, so I set mine halfway and got the best shower. EVER. No one messes with my shower.

I came downstairs and jumped when I saw Jason AND Mackenzie at the table.

"I didn't want to leave you here alone..." Jason said
