"Cynthia! Cynthia, over here!", I heard as I was walking out of the GBI airport. I just officially moved to Houston from New York, to open up a new Nail salon, and launch my clothing line. This was a fresh start for me, I've lived in New York my whole entire life, and wanted too see what all the hype was about in Texas. My friend Alexis, was waiting on me, to pick me up.

"You're finally here, this doesn't feel real at all, I'm damn near in tears, I'm happy as fuck" - Alexis yelled in excitement.

A smile appeared across my face, so many emotions were going through my mind.
"I'm excited too babe, I honestly didn't think I would leave, but I had to get out of there. This is a fresh start, and I'm excited to get my career started, I'm gonna be BALLIN" I said, while giggling, I turned to look at Alexis's facial expression as she was driving us to her place, she bursted out laughing.

Looking out the window, all I saw was huge buildings everywhere, city lights, and a huge sign that said H-O-U-S-T-O-N. This wasn't like home, but it still gave me that vibe. I couldn't help but be nervous, all these thoughts just filled my mind, I knew I was over thinking and needed to calm down a bit.

Alexis's Apartment, Down town, Houston.

"This is your room, the restroom is down the hall, the washer and dryer are in the closet, next to the kitchen. Down the street is the Galleria, it's literally a block away, The gym is on the 2nd floor, the gate code to the pool and to get into the gate is 0000"
- Alexis explained to me.

I looked at her and smiled, the apartment was beautiful, it reminded me of being back at home in NY. I knew I was going to like Houston, and that I made the right decision. Especially because the galleria was right down the street, and I'm forever shopping.

"Just get settled in, if you need help unpacking I'll be back later. I have to go to a meeting, it shouldn't be long, but make yourself at home babe." - Alexis

"Aw okay, I'll be fine, Let me start unpacking now, because I have so much stuff it's ridiculous." I said while, cutting open one of my boxes.

"Okay love you, call me if you need anything, bye" -alexis said, as she walked out of the door.

I started procrastinating on unpacking, and dozed off in Alexis's bed.
