They held each other's hands, trying to feel the softness and warmth which would ease their minds but it wasn't helping. When they were young, and when their parents would argue, they would always follow this action and it would help them both to calm down. They would be less affected by their surroundings and there would be only one thing playing around their minds; that they would be there for each other even if the world left them, and eventually, everything will be alright. This was the beautiful bond that the two siblings shared but now, this bond was starting to become weaker.
"You will find her." Erin whispered. "Don't fret, little brother."
"Stop saying this again and again, Erin! I won't find her by sitting idle." He shouted as he threw the newspaper which he was pretending to read.
"Stop it there, you two. This a police station, not the house of anger."
"Sorry officer." Erin replied in Conor's stead, who was constantly rubbing his forehead.
"Call me when the police finally does something, meanwhile I'll try finding her."
He grabbed his jacket and stammered out of the police station with a heavy mind and a heavier heart. But this made him more focused on his objective. As he was walking away, he heard a sound which made him look sideways instantly. He saw a bottle roll down the street and then, he saw a figure appear from inside the alley which made him infuriated.
He couldn't tolerate it anymore so he burst out in anger. "I don't have time for anyone's games. Come out!"
Out came a girl, walking slowly, her face covered with her hair and her clothes shredded as if an animal had torn them brutally. Her wobbly legs could not bare the burden and so, she fell with a loud thud. Her tears were given a way and they dropped, calmly yet full of severity.
It took Conor more than a minute to recognize her. She was, in fact, the girl he was looking for, the girl he was crying for, the girl for who he almost gave up everything for.
"Aria." He gasped loudly before running up to her and covering her up with his brown jacket as she continued to weep.
He picked her up and led her towards his car, where he knew that at least she could feel secure.
"I've got you love. No need to fear anymore." He gently made her sit in the car before placing himself next to her and stroking her hair. "Tell me, what happened?"
His question made her sob loudly and she buried her head into his chest, allowing her tears to fall onto his plain white shirt. She could not control herself, for she was brutally damaged, not only physically but mentally too. Scars around her neck, face, arms and hands were the clues of what had happened to her but Conor was too shocked to understand anything at all.
"They took away my-" she whispered between her sobs, unable to say the last word until she forced herself, "my honour."
Conor remained unmoved, unbent and unemotional. His hands shivered, not because of fear but because of anger. His head was burning, not because of a fever but because of wrath. His eyes turned red and he bit his lower lip tightly because it was hard for him to control his emotions. He got out of his car, leaving Aria to cry alone as he closed the door.
He shouted. It wasn't a normal shout, it was a cry, a war cry, as if he had declared a war against his unknown enemies. His cry was so loud that Erin and the police officers had to come out and control him until he regained his senses.
"Conor, what has got into you!" Erin grabbed him by his collars and shook him several times.
"Those bastards! They messed with this innocent girl! No, I can't let this happen. I will murder them all, I will massacre them and their families! Their whole generation won't be able to live!" He punched his car, leaving a fist mark on it and Erin had to pull him away to make him look at her.
She turned to see the naive lassie, weeping in the car uncontrollably with her face turned red as if she was going to pass out anytime soon. Then she turned to look at her brother again and she held his face between her two tiny hands.
"We will do everything to find out who did that to her. But for now, focus! We need to get her to the hospital. I'll drive, and you can sit beside me." She said these words in a calm manner, even if she wasn't but she knew that if she lost control like him, there would be no one to help them.
"Miss McGregor, we will join you at the hospital to carry out the investigation." The officer sighed and Erin nodded.
She helped Conor get into the car and she tightly tied the seatbelt around him. Then, she herself sat on the driver's seat and started to drive the car in a fast steady pace since she couldn't waste any time.
