He walked into his own palace, yet he felt as if he was invading someone else's privacy. This was his own house, his own mansion, but it seemed so unfamiliar. All his servants had lined up to welcome him, half of them who he didn't even recognise, yet he continued to walk down the corridor.

"Conor!"

He heard her meek voice from the room which he entered and he found her, looking pale and feeble but a smile had invaded her face as soon as he stepped in.

"Dee, how are you?" He forced his face to put on a fake smile.

"Terrible. Is this how you leave your queen? I've been through so much. Look at our house, it's all renovated. Doesn't it look good?" She grabbed his hands and looked around the room. After a long pause, her mouth uttered the words; "I missed you so much."

"About that-" he pulled back his hands and walked towards the fireplace, attracted by the picture of him and Dee which was taken years ago, when they were of a tender age and when they loved each other. Everything had changed so much now. "Dee, I wasn't actually gone for the tour."

"What?" Dee's eyes were widened with surprise and her jaw slightly dropped as she sauntered towards him and put her hand on his shoulder. "How many whores did you indulge in?"

"What kind of a pathetic question is that?" He angrily turned around to stare at her with his furious eyes.

"I know you, Conor. Answer me."

"I was not under any whore's company, you damn woman! I found someone better, someone who I truly love, someone who understands me, unlike you!" He senselessly barked, changing the whole atmosphere into a tense one.

Dee could not believe her ears. She shivered, and her legs were not able to hold all the weight of the words that ran through her mind. Her heart found it heavy to take the weight of those words because she truly loved Conor but this was the result of her loyalty. Slowly, she could feel herself fall down, just like a great tower turning into shambles, and her downfall was the reason why a stream of tears ran down her red, flushed cheeks.

"Why?" Her voice was low. "I thought I was your queen."

"You were." He headed for the door but before leaving, he turned around one last time. "But not anymore, Dee."

That was when her world felt hollow, her mind completely blocked and her face turned utterly  blank. She just wished for one thing; for the ground to burst open so that she could go deep into it and hide from whole of the world. All alone, all broken, she felt helpless. But there was just one more person.

Dee crawled towards the table and grabbed her cell phone to quickly dial the number of her intimate friend and soon enough, the call was answered.

"Hey Dee, what's up?"

"Erin," she sobbed loudly "I need your help."

"Hold on, I'm coming in ten minutes."

Dee waited, and ten minutes flew by just like ten seconds. Erin arrived and was horrified when she saw her friend's condition, who narrated to her the whole situation in which she was the helpless predator who was caught by her prey. Everything had turned upside down for her and Erin was shocked to see her beloved friend like this.

"Sweet Lord." Erin exclaimed while wrapping her arms around Dee to console her. "I knew about this."

"You did?"

"Yes. In fact," Erin hesitated a bit but she knew that Dee had to know the truth "I witnessed the moment when they said their wedding vows. I didn't want to hurt you, Dee. You are such a soft hearted person and I didn't want to break your heart. I know how much you love my brother-"

"Then please, Erin. Help me wipe out this girl. I want her out of Conor's life. She cannot just steal what is mine." She cut Erin's sentence short and continued ranting.

She looked at the miserable girl and sympathy for her was all that she could feel. With a deep exhale she nodded her head. "I will do whatever I can to help you Dee. My brother is in the wrong hands, under the wrong influence and I want my brother back."
