Theo was tossing a tennis ball against the ceiling. "Why don't you like Genevieve?"

That came from no where. What was I supposed to say? "There's just something off about her." She's creeping in my dreams.

"But I really like her and I don't want you to not like her. And if there is something wrong with her—and I'm just not seeing it—I want to know. So what don't you like about her?" Theo tossed the ball and it went rogue, bouncing away from where he was laying.

"Theo, I don't know yet."

We were lounging on the couch while Theo was in the shower. Laura was kissing me, and I had my hands all over her. My hand was well up her thigh, the other hand wrapped in her long blonde hair. Laura pulled away from me, her nose still touching mine.

"I have to go to your house. Water the plants. Pick up the mail..."

"I don't want to stop this, though."

"Well, it is your empty house. With your parents out of town. And the liquor cabinet unlocked... Plus, Theo will step out of the shower any minute..." Laura looked down at my shirt, toying with the top button.

I looked down at her shirt, more at what was under the shirt. "Are you suggesting, we go to my big old empty house, and fuck while my parents are away?"

"Are you opposed?"

I shook my head. "Never."

We locked the front door behind us and Laura hurried upstairs to my bedroom while I grabbed booze. We sat on my bed and shared a bottle of my parents' best whiskey. Once we were both nice and fuzzy, she started to take off her shirt, revealing my favorite of her many lacy bras. A beautiful push-up, that made—like always—her chest look wonderful.

Laura looked down at her chest and looked at me. "Are you just going to stare?"

I smiled and unstrapped her bra. She took off my shirt and then slid off her pants. Beautiful. Her ass.

I kissed her, and laying there on top of my shitty blue sheets it felt like old times, before I died. Before there was any complication between us.

I reached over into my end table and grabbed a condom. I thanked the grieving process for saving my box of condoms. Luckily, my parents were too distraught to go through all my things.

"Wow, same place." Laura said.

I smiled.

She started to kiss me again once the rubber was on and after a few minutes, I stopped. "Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"You didn't hear that?"

"No."

I shrugged. "It was probably nothing." I started to kiss her again. Nothing more than that had actually started to happen. Just the kissing.

Laura stopped. "Wait, I think I heard something."

We paused, both holding our breaths, listening for what we now both had heard.

"Laura?" I didn't say her name.

Laura looked at me and I looked at her.

"Was that my mom?"

"You parents are home." Laura got off of me and started to put her clothes back on. "Don't just sit there! Hide or something!"

I rolled underneath the bed. Laura walked out of my bedroom, leaving the door open just a crack. I could hear her talking to my parents. Being under the bed started to remind me of being in the coffin.

"You're back!" Laura said.

"What were you doing in his room?" Mom said.

"I was just checking on things."

"I wish you wouldn't go in there." Mom said, brushing it off. I let out a breath. I started to, as silently as I could, put back on my clothing and try to plan my escape.

"Whose shoes are these by the door?" Dad said.

Fuck. FUCK. FUCK!

"Theo's. I gave him a ride once and it was raining and his shoes got all muddy. I guess he just left them here."

"Right. We'll, here's your money." Dad still.

"Thanks." Laura, then a pause. "I think I left something upstairs." Her light footsteps hustling up the stairs then her head peeking in. "How the hell are you getting out of here?"

"I don't know!"

Laura bit her lip. Damn I wish she wouldn't do that. She looks too sexy. "I have to leave, your parents are getting suspicious."

"I'll figure it out. Just go to Theo's and wait for me."

Laura kissed my cheek, whispered a good bye and good luck and left.

I went into the closet and shut the door silently. I checked the time on my phone. Four o'clock. Only seven more hours, maybe eight, until my parents are asleep and I can sneak out.

I set an alarm to go off at eleven, turned my phone to vibrate, and shut my eyes. I fell asleep.

I woke up later, my phone vibrating on my chest.

"How are you getting out of this one?" Genevieve asked.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I looked at the time on my phone. Midnight. I opened my closet door and started to crawl out.

"When's the last time you snuck out of your house?" Genevieve asked, crawling out behind me.

"How'd you even get in here?"

"Window." She sing-songed.

"Okay, well shut up."

She nodded, did the zip her lips motion and followed me.

I opened the door to my bedroom and looked towards my parents' room. The light was off and I could hear my mother's soft snoring from behind the door. I snuck down the stairs, avoiding the creaky step, and pausing at the doorway to the living room. The TV was on, playing some late night talk show, my dad passed out in front of it. I unlocked the front door and opened it slowly. Genevieve walked out and I locked the door behind me.

I let out a breath and started to walk towards Theo's.

Genevieve skipped beside me. "Where we going?"

"I am going back to Theo's, hoping that no one sees me and calls the police about a strange man walking the streets so late."

"Well, I'm with you. So it'd be a strange man and woman."

"Right. Well, if you don't mind, I did just risk my life sneaking out of my home, and that really took quite a bit out of me, so if the rest of this walk could be silent?"

Genevieve nodded. "Right."

I don't know when, but at one point Genevieve disappeared and I was able to walk into the guest house in peace.

Laura threw her arms around me. "Holy shit!"

I let out a breath.

"Oh my God I was so worried!" Laura held me tight.

"I wasn't!" Theo called out.

I looked over Laura's shoulder at Theo. "Thanks, bro."

"What'd you do?"

I smiled. "I waited until my parents were asleep. And I walked out the front door. I hid in my closet to wait."

Theo stood up. "Well, I'm happy you finally came out of the closet."

"Okay. Well, my parents are back in town. So. We need to take another look at The Plan."
