Camden's Point Of View
Covering my ears, I shield my eardrums from that deathly scream Maizy lets out. It doesn't help much, but hey, it's something. I wait for what feels like minutes but is only seconds until she stops screaming. Little does she know, she could shatter your skull if she knew how. Just by one scream."I- I saw her," She panics, heaving a breath.
"Saw who?" I ask, studying her face. She looks so drained. Kind of like how she looks in class, but ya know, that's a different story.
"She was little. L-like seven? A-and she-" She stumbles, but stops, widening her eyes even more if that was even possible.
"We need to go." She brings herself back around, shooting to her feet. You see, these are the moments I hate. You dont understand why or what she's doing, but she looks damn good doing it.
"Get some clothes on, we're taking your truck." She demands, glaring at me. Following her instructions, I rinse off the soot in the shower and grab a plain black shirt and some jeans.
"Let's go." I say, grabbing my keys from her. I hear an animal-like noise escape from her mouth.
"What?" I ask, turning around. Crossing her arms, she shoots a look at my hand then back up to my face.
"You are not driving my truck." I snicker, shooting her a glare. Sticking out her bottom lip, she comes closer, wrapping her hands around my neck.
"Pleeeaasssee?" Maizy pouts, sneaking away the keys from my grasp. Letting out a loud sigh, I nod.
"Fine."
Camden what the hell you never let anyone drive your truck' my mind pesters. Shrugging the thoughts away, I hop into the passenger's seat as Maizy starts the engine up. Twisting the knob on the radio, I turn up the country station so she can sing along to whatever song is playing.
"Where exactly are we going?" I finally ask, examining our surroundings.
We were in the middle of nowhere.
"We just need to work our way past those trees and find the clearing and wait." She says, reaching under her seat and pulling out a case.
"Why the fuck do we need guns?" this girl really doesn't make any sense.
"Somethings coming. Where's your other case?" She explains, making me scoff and roll my eyes. Hopping out of the cab I lift the lid of my tool box, bringing out a smaller black case that has my knives in it.
"Great, now lets go." She demmands, walking past the tall grass to the trees. I swear, this girl is going to get us killed one day.
Maizy's Point Of View
Camden might not get it, but he doesn't need too. I know something is going to drag that little girl here and it's going to try and kill her. But not if we stop it. It could be a werewolf, a Dracula, a Demon, a Wendigo. Who knows? All I know is that tonight will be the last time it kills.
Camden trails behind me as I spot out a perfect place near the clearing to wait.
"Maze, what did you see?" Camden asks, stepping infront of me. His tone is confused and I don't blame him.
"It was a little girl. Just- Something's coming." I reply simply. At least, I thought it was simple.
The sun started to shrink behind the pines as the stars became more and more visible. Cocking the gun back that I had in my hand, I waited impatiently. I just wanted to beat whatever this was. Camden perks up behind me, tightening his grip on my wait looking out into the woodsy area.
