"You're nothing!" She shouts, throwing her hands in the air. I flinch at the words, fearing she'd hit me. The painful blow to my head proves me right.

"You can't do a single fucking thing right!" She sneers again. I look down at my hands and see blood dripping from them.

"You were supposed to help them. Not endanger the boy even more! Way to expose him." The lady remarks. I look around and find myself in the building that I was trained in. I'd been given a task. I needed to do what I need to do. Tears stained my cheeks, and I-

---------------
"Fuck!" Camden yells, jolting me awake. I look over to my left to see a frustrated Camden banging on his steering wheel.

"What?" I ask, my voice cracking. He looks to me and studies my face, cocking a brow.

"Why are you crying?" he asks in return. I wipe my face and shrug it off.

"Bad dream. What's wrong?" I ask once more. I look in front of me to see a deer lying in the road.

"Nice one. There's dinner." I joke. He pushes my arm playfully and grins.

"Yeah, yeah." he rolls his eyes before slamming down on the horn, causing the doe to flee away. The rest of the car ride is silence. By the time we pull in my drive way it's 5 and we're supposed to meet Jackson and Siena for dinner at six. Covering up these new bruises will be a pain in my ass but tonight should be somewhat fun.

------------------------------------------------------

Turns out I was right. The bruises were painful to cover up but at least they aren't visible. I wasn't looking forward to making up excuses about falling down a staircase or running into multiple things. As clumsy as I am, I knew I wouldn't get it past Siena. Or my brother. So, as an easier solution makeup is my best friend at this point.

"Hurry up!" Camden shouts from down the hall. I roll my eyes before slipping on a simple black dress along with a grey cardigan and step into my black sandles. I jog down stairs to meet Camden in the living room. I stop in my tracks, when he doesn't quit staring at me.

"Shit, can you see them still?" I ask, touching my cheek. He lets out a chuckle and shakes his head.

"No. Quite the opposite actually," His footsteps come closer to me.

"You look absolutely stunning." He whispers, sending shivers up and down my spine. I hate it when he's cheesy and romantic like that. It makes me blush and that is already embarrassing enough.

"Shut up, Let's go." I walk past him and out the door, hearing a laugh behind me. Tonight should be fun right?

--------------------------------------

"Then Jackson came running in with whipped cream all over his face, it was so funny." Siena explains, telling us a funny story about a prank she pulled on him. That's probably the 11th couple story she's told us. And quite frankly, I was getting really annoyed. I mean, it's not that I don't like them telling  us their stories, it just sucks when you can't tell your best friend stories. Especially the ones involving demons or wendigos's. I don't think she'd take well to that information.

I nod while they talk about them, and flash a warming smile here and there. My smile fades when I spot a familiar smirk from across the room.

"Damn it," I mutter, sending daggers through Sean's head. His gaze meets mine, and his smirk grows bigger, if that was even possible. I turn my attention back to everyone, to find all eyes on me.

"What's wrong?" Siena asks, bringing her voice to a whisper. I shake my head, brushing it off until Camden leans closer to me.

"I'm not feeling too well." He mutters. My stomach twisted in a knot by the seriousness in his voice. I could see it coming. something bad was most definitley about to happen. I turn around and see a disfigured face of Sean, charging at us. My life flashes before my eyes, feeling a wave of heat pass by along with an orange light.

"Get 'em out of here!" Camden shouts, the sound of a chair hitting the wall fills the space. Glass shatters everywhere, and screams from other people amplify the action. Jackson drags my arm toward the nearest exit, but I wasn't just going to let Camden fight alone. I stop walking and tug myself forward, toward the scene.

"Maizy, C'mon! Stop it~~" Jackson yells, but all the sound slows, echoing and fading by the second. I focuse on Camden, throwing punches and clawing at Sean. He turns around, and I make sure I meet his gaze.

"Burn It All." I whisper, and even though hes across the room, I know he can hear me. He nods his head before taking one last hit at Sean. Pieces of chairs fly toward us, along with rolling fire. A loud boom knocks us out of the resturaunt, throwing us to the ground along with multiple shards of glass. A sharp ringing overwhelms me, until the darkness hits.

When I said burn it all, I didn't know it would be to this extent.
