*WARNING- THERE ARE SOME PRETTY LOVEY DOVEY SUTUATIONS IN THIS CHAPTER. DONT SAY I DIDNT WARN YOU.*

"God damn, Maze," Camden mutters, tugging my arm back. I turn around to face him with a blank expression on my face. I wanted to leave that plane as soon as possible.

"You okay?" He asks, fucking a piece of hair behind my ear. I flinch at his touch, but ease out.

"Yep, just tired." I assure him. He nods, and takes my hand, interlocking our fingers together. It feels weird, but it's a good weird. Probably because we never really do this type of couple stuff.

We go out into the paring garage to search for Camden's truck. The elevator was out of service, forcing us to climb six long flights of stairs. Ontop of this, I had volleyball practice the next morning and it was around two, maybe three in the morning already. I stop in my tracks on the fourth set of stairs and groan. My arm tugs when Camden tries to keep hiking but he quickly turns around and laughs.

"C'mon, babe you're almost there," He encourages. I shoot him a glare and look up at all the other fleights of stairs.

"Yeah, I don't think so," I reply, pointing up. He shakes his head, before stepping down to my level. I cock my brows in question but before I can object to anything, He throws me over his shoulder and continues to hike the stairs.

"Camden Wesley Hall!" I shout, banging on his back. "Warn me next time will ya?" I grumble, gathering my hair into a ponytail and tying it up.

"Hey, this is a good workout for the game next weekend," He adds, jogging faster up the incline. I let out a laugh and let myself hang down. "And I have a perfect view," I say before smacking his butt. He yelps, but returns the action.

"Ow! You fucker!" I exclaim, earning a laugh from him. He sets me down when we reach the level his car is at and takes my hand again.

"God, I love yo-" he stops speaking when he realizes what's coming out of his mouth. My eyes widen and my body becomes stiff. He drops my hand  when I stop in my tracks and sighs. "I'll uh, go get the truck." He stutters, digging his keys from his pocket. I nod and watch him until he's not in sight. I gasp for air, not aware I was holding my breath. So this is how I react when someone says they love me? Wow..

The truck pulls around with Camden looking straight ahead. I open the door and slide in, clicking my seatbelt.  The silence strains and the truck doesn't move an inch. My heart grows heavy and I let out a sigh.

"Sorry... It just- slipped out." He apologizes, breaking the silence. I look over at him, and study the way he looks. His jaw is clenched, his eyes are tired, and his hair still has ashes in it. His eyes meet my gaze but he quickly looks away.

"What, are you just gonna stare at me like a creep or say something?" He snaps. Instead of saying some petty remark, I continue to stare at him. He turns back toward me, mimicking my face and stares back at me. Before I can stop myself, I grab his short at the collar and pull him closer to me, smashing our lips together. He hesitates before kissing back and we move our lips in sync. I pull away before it starts to get heated and focuse my attention on turning up the country station.

"Fucking a, woman. You're going to be the death of me." He sighs, starting up the ignition and pulling out of the garage. A smile creeps on my face as I sing along to the familiar tune that filled the silence.

Camden pulls up into the rocks next to the driveway and shuts off the ignition. By now it was 5 am. LA was a long ways from our town.

"What time is pracice?" He asks, turning towards me. I rub my eyes before replying. "Six,"

"Want me to stay?" He asks. I nod before opening the car door and slamming it shut, dragging my tired ass to the front door. I fiddle with the key for a minute before it finally clicks and opens up for me. Right away, I find a m note on the coffee table.

Maze, there's coffee in the pot, and fruit in the fridge. Also, I restocked the Powerade. Go Panthers! Energy bars are in the cabinet above the microwave.

I sigh and set it back down. "I'm hopping in the shower, I'll be down in 15. Then you can get in and rummage through Jackson's shit. Sound good?" I ask, making a game plan so this morning goes quickly.

"Sure thing, boss," He says, plopping on the couch. He turns on the tv as the news spews out some more bullshit for everyone to believe.

I slip on some black spandex and slip on my practice shirt along with black elites. I did my hair into two French braids so it looks like I put some effort into living.

Jogging back down stairs, I throw Camden a pair of jeans and a black shirt. He thanks me quickly before skipping upstairs. I take my mom up on the offer of the fruit and coffee. If I was going to live today, I couldn't do it without coffee. It's not long before a neat looking Camden enters the kitchen. "Howdy, Ma'am," He greets me, reaching above the microwave, handing me a handful of cliff energy bars. I thank him before packing them into my gym bag. "Ready to kill the warriors?" He asks, referring to my game later tonight. I nod, packing a few powerades into my bag as well.

"You ready?" I ask, slinging both my bags over my shoulders. He nods, leading the way out of the house and to his pickup.

The school parking lot is almost empty. It's like a ghost town except for the coaches car and a few seniors. Camden follows me to the gym and stops outside of the doors that were swung open to let the cool breeze in.

"See you in class, alright? Don't push yourself." He advised. I nod in agreement before he pecks my lips and heads to the weight room. The weight room overlooks the gym.

"McClure! Jersey, Now!" Coach snaps. I follow her orders and head into the lockeroom, digging my Jersey out.

"Why do we have to wear our jerseys for prac?" I ask Siena, finding her in the back. She turns around looking insanely different.

"Who the fuck are you?" I growl, crossing my arms. Her green eyes send daggers through my head before she speaks.

"Cassidy. I just moved here. I was the best setter my school had." She explains in a now cheery voice. I cock my brow and laugh.

"Oh! You're backup, okay. I'm actually a setter, maybe I can show you some pointers." I reply, defending my position. The girls phone buzzes and lights up with a picture of an all too familiar face. "Oh, that's just Alex," She says like it's nothing. I back up against the lockers and try to catch my breath. The guy is all too familiar but I don't know how.
