Day 102

As the slow winter days went by, I lost track of what happened on which day. Truthfully, not that much occurred. My apologies for not being the best journal keeper.

Here is my best attempt at a summary of what happened during the month of December, before everyone disappeared for Christmas Break.

First of all, our Adaptation class was becoming closer and friendlier than ever. Anna and I had a fake battle over which one of us was Enrique's "bae." It wasn't really relevant to this story, but looking back and knowing that Enrique liked me a whole lot more than Anna is comforting.

Second of all, I ended up almost one on one with Logan yet again. We were at a workshop for English class after school, and when my teacher told me I should speak up more in class while saying "I don't hear your voice," Logan retorted, and I quote "Well I do." I should've known that he was hinting at disliking me at the time and I should've cut off contact with him right then and there... But I didn't get the memo. We walked to the metro stop together... and when I say together I mean Anna was there too. Talking to Logan more than I had throughout the entire first school semester. Again, I should've known.

Third of all, something totally new was forming. It was still young and nobody knew what exactly to do with it. It was whatever Ellie and Jack's relationship could be classified as. I mean, they weren't dating, they were barely talking. But, there was a reason that Jack always came up and talked to our group... Ellie, of course. As it would later turn out, during the first week of break, Jack had the biggest crush on Ellie, and nobody knew about it. And lucky for him, Ellie was starting to feel the same way.

Fourth of all, I was starting to realize that the Eric Hamilton guy that was in my class was a weirdo. We somehow started texting and it got creepy. I don't remember much but the only thing I know is that he was obsessed with people doing the splits and sending him pictures.

And lastly, my personal favorite, was the Group Chat. According to Anna and her sidekick Archie Rolf, any and every relevant boy in our grade was part of a group chat, in which they discussed girls. Especially new girls. Us. For some weird reason there was supposedly a guy in in the chat that liked every one of us. The only question was which guy liked which girl. It was thrilling, hearing what the boys had to say about us from Anna. She was, in a way, a good messenger, she'd twist and exaggerate things to make you feel good about hearing whatever news she brought. As well as the boy group chat there was also just a class group chat. With mine, Anna's, and Alice's classmates. Alice didn't care much... until someone in the group chat spoke up about her. Lucy had apparently referred to her as a whore. True or not, it was enough to sting. Also, the kid from my class Xavier had supposedly referred to us Adaptation students as extremely annoying. The Group Chat(s) started a lot of tension between us and The French People.

Luckily we were going on vacation soon. But boy oh boy did none of us expect for any of it to actually get worse
