Coming home was difficult for me because I wasn’t completely sure where Liam and I stood with our relationship. I was almost positive he wasn’t over me and everything we had when he guided me through my house by my hips checking to make sure I was okay every five seconds.

“Can I get you anything?” Liam’s deep voice was the only thing I had heard all day. Now I was under my blankets watching the wall because I was tired. Liam was hovering over me when all I wanted was for him to crawl into bed with me and hold me. I wanted to feel his warm touch on my stomach.

“Water.” I lied. I could go for water but like I said, I just wanted him to hold me. He nodded his head and walked from my room. Liam was a sweetheart and I could tell he felt really bad about everything happening, but I also remembered how easy it was for him to leave us for Danielle, so would he really want me now?

I was almost asleep but alert enough to feel Liam’s phone vibrating on my bed. I hadn’t seen him toss his phone down but he normally only did that when he was planning on laying down there. My heart fluttered thinking maybe Liam was going to lay with me, maybe he wanted to lay with me, to cuddle. But my smile dropped and I was back to sadness when I looked at the name on his phone. Danielle.

I know I shouldn’t have answered the phone call, but I couldn’t help it. My finger hovered over the green button for too long to not answer her. I guess part of me had bad intentions, to make it known Liam was indeed with me, but another part because if the boys hadn’t known where Liam was neither had she, and as his girlfriend she deserved to know. I had too big of a heart for my own good.

“Hello?” Her voice was like a sad song to me. She spoke sweetly and worried like she had been trying to get him to answer for days. She sounded like I would have if Liam had answered my calls like I had been hoping. I felt my words get stuck in my throat so I had to force hem out.

“Hi,” I could hear a sharp intake of breathe, then a heavy exhale. She really thought Liam had answered her call, I was a horrible person. My daughter kicked. She was okay with me doing this, and if she wasn’t disappointed in me for possibly ruining her fathers relationship than I should be okay with it.

“Cassidy?” She knew my name. I don’t know why it was such a surprise to me at the time, most of the world had known my name at that point. When the press wasn’t asking Liam questions about me, Louis and Niall were telling them something new about me. It was like Louis was more there than Liam was at that point.

“Yeah, it’s me.” I felt bad and just as she was about to speak back Liam entered my room with a tall glass of ice water for me. My heart sank wondering if he was going to be mad that I had his phone, but his eyebrows just burrowed and his lips pursed in question as he sat next to me. “Danielle,” I mouthed to him and panic flushed over him.

“Have you heard from Liam? Oh wait, yeah obviously this is his phone. Is he uh-there?” I knew Liam could hear her because he rapidly shook his head no and made movements like he was slitting his own throat if I were to hand him the phone. Getting the clue I spoke to Danielle the best I could without yelling at her for taking the father of my child when I needed him.

“No he just left to go get me something.” Liam let out a quiet breath of relief. I felt bad for lying for him but this meant that I would be getting rid of her for awhile, long enough for Liam and I to talk things out. I needed him.

“Oh okay. Well just tell him I called.” I could hear her tears almost. I knew the minute I hung up the phone she would be crying herself to sleep. She probably felt like a joke, like Liam was using her in the first place, like she never meant anything to him. Like I had the night she called him.

“What did she want?” Liam asked taking his phone and turning it off and tossing it on the nightstand. My shoulders shrugged and I curled farther into my blankets. To my surprise Liam curled into me and held me. It was warm and happy in his arms. My daughter fluttered.

“I’m really sorry,” Liam spoke into my ear hardly above a whisper. I understood that he was sincere about saying he was sorry. How could he not be? I couldn’t imagine being the reason I almost lose my baby, I only know what it felt like to think I had, because just two days earlier I was sure it was my fault she stopped moving.

“I know.” I whispered back. I watched Goosebumps form all over his arms where my warm breath hit him. His sharp intake of breathe made me nervous. What could be getting ready to say? Something so serious he did his nervous breathing thing that he liked to do when he was in-fact nervous. Before I could figure that out Louis’ voice boomed through my room.

“We have arrived, how is everyone?” Louis was soon sat on my bed laying across Liam and I’s legs. I laughed and kicked him. His face gave me fake disappointment.

“Louis honestly? We’re about to take a nap.” Liam’s strict voice came out and I felt myself turn floaty. All of Liam’s different voices got to me, I wasn’t so sure why this one had such an amazing effect on me, it was like drugs I though.

“Oh sure that’s what you were about to do.” Louis wiggled his eyebrows and I looked at him questionably. That’s when the rest of the boys came in one by one with worried expressions on their faces. Louis must not have told them that everything was fine, typical Louis.

“I’m fine boys.” I saw Niall’s eyes brighten and Zayn smile. But it was Harry who ran across the bottom of my bed over to me wrapping his arms around me. He hugged me so tight I was worried he would shut my airways and that would be the end of me right there. But Liam saved the day once again.

“Alright Harry no rough housing, she just got home.” I felt the blankets lift and then felt Louis next to me. It didn’t take but two minutes for all six of us to be crowded onto my bed under my small blanket.

“I missed you Cassidy.” Zayn spoke. Zayn was the one of the boys who I worried wasn’t very fond of me, but this proved me wrong because his arms wrapped around my legs and he kissed my knee. My leg involuntary kicked making everyone laugh.

When I woke up I was alone in my bed. Panic rushed over me thinking that the boys had all left, or worse, they were never here. For a second I questioned if I had ever even met them, so unsure of myself I lifted up my blanket and made sure my stomach was enlarged with a baby inside.

Getting out of bed I heard the familiar shouting of Louis and Harry playing videogames, then Liam telling them to keep it down, I was still sleeping. I was going to interrupt when Zayn told everyone the food was ready but then Niall asked Liam a question, one that could change my life forever.

“Liam, what are you going to do? Are you going to get your life together and get back here to Cassidy or keep making yourself unhappy with Danielle.”
