It has been a couple days since I last seen Reign, it feels as if she is ducking my calls and text messages. I don't know if I should be worried about her, I'm not one who typically worries about others. But this girl, man this girl, she's different and I can't tell if it's a good different or a bad different. I'm definitely not ready to tell her about the life I have chosen to live. Hell I don't even think we're at the level were we are ready to tell each other our secrets.
She thinks I forgot about the question she managed to avoid regarding her boyfriend or ex boyfriend Jensen. I don't know what went down between the two but it had to be something big if she was willing to move all the way home. My hand trekked through my hair as my stress level continued to rise. Reign had found my stash of cash, I gave her some lame lie in which I'm sure she didn't believe.
If any other person would've found my stash, I can honestly say they wouldn't have lived very long. My boots slapped against the pavement as I made my way to the room where Maverick and other club members held a Sons member. A few men lined up the hallway as I walked pass them, Maverick always kept this base heavily guarded. We kept a lot of our valuables at this location.
Guns, Drugs, Log books for our different operations and list of names of our allies. This location was secret, so it completely surprised me when Maverick said he brought an enemy to our base. When I finally made it to the room where they held the Sons member the first thing I noticed was Maverick. He was standing directly in front of the prisoner, whose face was drenched with blood.
The captive was tied up to a chair, his body was bruised and blood was dripping over his face and any other layer of skin available. I didn't recognize the person, when Maverick moved out of the way. When his eyes looked at me they were laced with fear and determination. As I got closer to the prisoner, my confusion became obvious to everyone in the room.
"What the hell is this?" I questioned.
The badly beaten person flinched at the sound of my booming voice which brought a sense of satisfaction to travel within me. Maverick walked behind the squirm prisoner and grabbed him by his recently dyed red hair. Once the victim head was yanked completely back Maverick pressed a sharp knife up against his neck.
"This bastard tried to infiltrate our club by trying to join as a prospect." Maverick had a sinister smile on his face.
I tilted my head to the side as I looked at the battered being, the bastard eyes were closed. Weak, If you're going to try to infiltrate the enemies organization the least you could do is keep your dignity and integrity in tact as you face your maker.
"Switch me." Maverick said as he gave me the knife so he could stand in front of the victim and I would be standing behind the guy with a knife to his throat.
Maverick squatted in front of the guy, they were almost eye to eye. I allowed the prisoner to look at Mav as I held the knife just below his ear.
"Who sent you?" Maverick questioned. "Was it Sebastian Morrow? Why did he send you?"
Every since question Mav asked the guy remained quiet he just stared at Mav with a blank expression. A slow smile crept across Maverick face and in that moment I knew Mav was ready to get his hands dirty. He enjoyed torture, he treated it like it was his reason for breathing. Sometimes this man was crazy and he had no problem admitting his craziness.
"Give me the knife son." Mav asked, I gave him the knife with little to no hesitation then I stepped back allowing him to have his fun.
He circled the guy who remain silent almost as if he was in a vegetation state. He grabbed a hold of the guy left ear and began slicing it off with brute force. The guy let our an ear splitting scream, I didn't dare take my eyes off of him Maverick hates any sign of weakness. Looking away would not only strip me of my VP patch it would strip me of my pride and dignity. My heart was slamming against my chest I have seen plenty of people die after being tortured by Mav, it doesn't get easier.
