Reign POV
"If you don't stop shoving my dog I'm going to finish what Sehun couldn't!" Manny yelled at Axel who was refusing Manny's dog—Lady—tongue kisses.
"Get the bitch off me." Axel fired back with a deep set frown as he once again shoved Lady off the hospital bed.
"I'll have my bitch attack your b—" Manny retorted bit was cut off by Axel swinging his arm out and letting it collide into Many abdomen.
"Shit man," Manny groaned as hunched over. Instantly Lady ran around the bed and towards her hurt owner. "I was just going to say beautiful lady."
I tuned their bickering out and pulled my legs onto the hospital chair so I could sit crisscross applesauce. My freshly washed curls framed my face hitting me with its captivating scent. I have never been in the shower for as long as I was. To finally be out of that filthy dress and into comfortable sweatpants and a sports bra was refreshing. A sigh slipped out of my mouth as I reflected on the massacre that occurred a few hours ago.
All of this could have probably been avoided if I told Bash the truth. If I told him the truth maybe he would have sent guards to my college and I could have finished my degree. Hell maybe Jensen would still be alive if I would have told the truth. A frown laced my face, actually Bash probably would've had him killed anyway. On top of that he would've made me transfer to a university here in California.
I guess it doesn't really matter either way I look at it Jensen would die. That's the type of life I was born into, anyone I bring into my life will have to suffer through deaths. There is no running from it, I tried and I failed. Shock was bestowed upon my face as I seen my dad and Maverick Taylor standing next to each other in a united front. When both Sons and Dark Howlers lifted their weapons to aim at their target I immediately hit the ground.
My eyes were squeezed tight like an unopened jalapeño jar. My ears, my poor ears were deafening do to the constant array of gunfire. The gunfire was relentless and on top of that screams of pain, bullets swirling pass, glass from the cameras and it's equipment—it was overwhelming and a reminder of why I wanted out of this life. Once everything had quiet down I had remained still, unable to move do to the paralyzing fear coursing through my veins.
"Reign? Reign are you hurt?" I faintly heard Axel call out to me. Somehow his voice managed to breakthrough the ringing barrier.
"I'm fine." I replied into the grass.
"Baby let me see."
"I don't want to see the bodies."
"Reign? I need you to be strong right now, Can you do that?"
"Yeah." I softly replied.
"Look at me," Slowly I looked up and allowed my eyes to connect with his soft greens. "You're ok, we're ok."
"You got knocked the fuck out." Manny replied breaking our calming eye connection.
"I'm so happy to see you right now so I'm going to let you slide." Axel chuckled.
While Manny helped Axel up to his feet, I took the opportunity to get up as well. The scene in front of me was horrific, bodies plunged with multiple rounds of bullets lay spiraled on the ground with lifeless eyes. The once green grass was stained dark red.
"Mija!" I heard my father yelled from a couple of feet away. I could've burst out in tears at that point, the sense of familiarity was overbearing.
"Papá." I replied with a sign of relief as I ran into his welcoming arms. His embrace was warm and the scent of his ocean body wash flooded my senses.
