"Avery you got to be one hundred percent sure on this, you can't just assume this crap." My best friend Luna, said her voice full of concern.

"Why wouldn't want to be one hundreds percent positive on this?! My future is on the line Luna!" I tried to whisper-yell to her, considering we were standing in the handicap stall of the girl's bathroom at school.

"Do you even know who it belongs to?" She bit her lip nervously.

"Of course I do! I'm not a whore." I defensively replied.

"Okay who's is it then?" She crossed her arms, waiting for an answer.

"His name is Elijah."

"How come I've never heard of him?"

"Well we've been seeing each other for a while in secret more or less because he's a little bit..older than me." My voice got higher, the longer I drug out the sentence. I looked away from her gaze, scared of her criticism.

"How much older?" Her question was stern but gentle.

"He's umm..28.." I coughed out and before I heard a response, Luna grabbed both of my arms and shook me violently.

"Are you fucking nuts?!" She was clearly upset.

"Maybe." My sarcasticness has never failed to come out at the wrong times.

"This isn't a god damn joke Avery!" I flinched when she yelled since she was an inch from my face.

"Sorry.." I whispered looking down at the floor.

"You have been dating this 28 year old dude for I don't know how long, and you might be knocked up by him! Does he even know your real age?!" She tried to be quiet but she was too angry to be.

"He thinks I'm at least 18."

"Oh great! Now he will have the same story every guy who gets charged with pedophilia does!" Throwing her hands in the air, she paced back and forth.

"Technically I'm 18 in a few months so if no one knows until then I would be fine.."

"That's not the point ave, this happened not long ago which means this happened when you were still 17 so he could still be charged with it." Her response made me sad, which lead to me completely shutting down on her.

"Ugh! We'll talk about this later Avery, I have calculus." With that she stuffed her pale hands into her black and purple jacket and pulled the hood over her shoulder length, straight, black hair and made her way out of the bathroom, leaving me there alone.

Before I walked out of the bathroom I checked my face. My makeup was fine, thanks to waterproof mascara, but my blue eyes were red and puffy. I fixed the braid in my dark brown hair and then left the bathroom.

Instead of going to my last two classes, I hid in the schools giant library, crying and reading until it was time to go home.

----------------------------------------------

"Does he know?" Luna asked me as we laid down on her bed.

"No, I'm not even sure yet so I don't want to say anything you know?" I replied simply while playing with the ends of my hair.

"Yeah that's true. Oh and also I'm sorry for getting mad earlier, I wasn't trying to be mad I was just frustrated because I don't want what happened to your sister to happen to you.." she apologized.

"I know.. I just still can't believe my parents kicked her out because she was gay.."

"Yeah it sucks man, but I mean being gay is different than having a baby so maybe if you are pregnant they won't be as harsh?" She questioned herself as the thought came to her.

"Ha! That's even worse than being gay!"

My parents are super religious and for me I'm not, I like to live in the moment and I don't like to worry about 'some higher power' who has control over my after life. I know for a fact that my parents would never look at me the same way.

"What are you going to do Avery?" Luna's voice became quiet and worried.  Her light blue eyes looked into mine full of concern.

"I don't think I have many options Luna, you know I have plans and I can't take care of a kid.." I just fiddled with my fingers as I sat there.

"Are you saying what I think you're saying?"

"Yeah.."

"Well just think about it, you have like a month to two months tops before that's no longer an option.."

"I guess.."

Luna and I just gradually got off the topic and started to do our homework.
