"so how did you get the food?" luna asked looking at me strangely while she ate.

looking at her with a raised brow i slowly questioned her logic; " what do you mean?"

"well i picked you up this morning and i didn't give you the keys to go get the food." her expression and mood went cold.

my heart skipped a beat realizing what she said was true. i cant tell her about elijah she would freak out. "i got a ride from a friend." i kept looking down at my phone, avoiding eye contact with luna.

"why did you lie to me then?" i shot up and furrowed my brows.

"what the hell are you talking about? i never lied to you, i questioned what you meant and i never told you how i got it in the first place i just said i was getting food." i went in defense mode.

luna went quiet knowing she was wrong. she is starting to question she me because knows something is going on that i haven't told her about yet. the only reason why im keeping it a secret from almost everyone is the fact elijah is my teacher and im not going to let myself get in the way of his career.

the bell rings indicating we're going to be late for class. i got up from the table and grabbed my bag walking away from the table towards my class all the way at the other end of the school.

i sit through the period lost in a day dream, from being medicated high and i just experienced my first time. my desk was placed on the far side of the room next to the shelves of books, right under the huge glass windows. the clouds cast over the sun making it a bright gloom that i found really peaceful. the hours passed and the snooze fest was over finally.

When the school day was through I decided to walk instead of catching a ride with Luna again. I made it home and to my relief my parents were nowhere in site. I went straight to my room and laid on my bed enjoying the peace and quiet.

"Avery get ready for church!" My mother screeched as she slammed the door shut. I placed my pillow over my face and screamed into it.

It's just youth group and I'm not getting dolled up for it.  Within minutes my mother bombards my room rushing me.
"Mom let me get ready sheesh!" With my sweater in my hand and my hands pushing my mom on her back, out the door I stifled a groan and finished what I was doing.

we had arrived at the church early as usual.  when my parent left my sight into their main chapel hall, i rushed to hop the wall to a secluded area on church property. i texted lukas where i was at and not long after he showed up in a similar outfit as myself.

"what is this twin day or something?" he chuckled sitting down next to me in the crowded space between a fence and one of the storage buildings we hid behind.

"nah you just have good taste like me." i smiled. holding the joint i had in between my fingers i tried to motion for him to take it but he declined.

"are you sure?" i asked before taking another drag.

"yeah, im done with that. i need the extra cash." he stated before relighting it for me as we talked.

"thanks. so hows everything going with bo?" i hesitated to ask. he looked down at the flame he kept putting out and then restart. taking a big inhale and letting out a big cloud of grey smoke he looked at me batting away the smoke.

"its difficult honestly. they put her under house arrest and she has a body guard there all the time." his entire aura shifted.

"i mean at least she isnt in prison dude, i know its still a shitty situation to be in but it could be worse. it seems as if you guys are making progress." being as sympathetic as i could i patted his knee with my free hand.

"i know avery, i just really care for this girl.. its odd though, when adrian and i were out the other night visiting her, she wanted some alone time after we released some dramatic news to her and then we see her walking outside with no body guard?" he furrowed his brows remembering. trying to think of what reasons could be his answer.

" maybe she has a doppelganger?" i joked only half serious.

" well adrian sure caught on fast and didnt trust her, i just dont understand it looked exactly like her. "

"she could have a twin sister that no one knew of." i said finishing the joint.

" ill have to look into more with the boys. i appreciate you having your input even though you probably dont even understand as much as you would if you were sober." he joked. grabbing the fence we pulled ourselves up and climbed over the wall.

"dont forget to put on some spray." he reminded me as he passed over a piece of gum.

"thanks." we caught up with the arriving youth kids and i went up to one of the middle school girls and asked her for some perfume which she nervously handed to me.

tossing it back to her i ran to catch up with my grade in the cafe lounge for bible lessons.
