We Could Happen

Prologue

"Today could be the someday you've been waiting for"
Jacob reminded himself as he woke up in the morning. He checked the time, it's already six in the morning.
He get off the bed and prepare for his daily jogging, It was a nice day in Chiang Mai.
He is wearing his V-neck T-shirt, fitted jogging pants and his earphones...
Jacob's chiselled abs, toned arms and undeniable sexiness that attracts almost every woman around.

After running for an hour, he noticed the busy people around him.. he sat on a bench and observed... and suddenly, he realized "Tomorrow is the Yi Peng Lantern Festival".

All around Chiang Mai during Yi Peng and Loy Krathong you will see lanterns and special parades... colourful lantern displays are set up at the three Kings monument, thapae gate and at all of other gates around the moat which encircles the old town district of Chiang Mai.
Temples and households decorate their front entrances with coconut leaves and flowers.
On Yi Peng day, Lanters or candles are lit and placed at entrances to shops, homes, and temples.
The act of making the lanterns or donating them to temples is one way of making merit and the light of a lantern is significant in Buddhist culture because it represents the moving away from darkness into a brighter future.
"and maybe, it is time for me to lit a lantern", Jacob said to himself.
The release of lanterns (khom) is a way to pay respect for Buddha and also to release bad memories and make wish for the future.

When Jacob came home, he grab some apple and opened his laptop to check his social media accounts and emails... "No new Email", he whispered "that's odd".

Jacob went upstairs to his bathroom and turned on the steam shower to let it heat up.
He removed his clothes, eager to begin his cleansing ritual.
He drank two glasses of water to calm his starving stomach. then he walked to the full-length mirror and studied his half naked body.
His three years of workout at the gym had accentuated his musculature, and he could not help but admire that which he had become.

Jacob is a product of a broken Family, his parents got separated five years ago, his Father remarried to a Canadian Woman and probably forgot about his existence. Although he live with his Mother in the Philippines, he often travel to find his soul and escape life.
"Tomorrow, I will be so much more", Jacob whispered.
