We Could Happen

CHAPTER THREE

Jacob bolted awake, the back of his head throbbed, a gnawing pain. the smell of the aroma of roasted ground coffee fills the room, he was not alone.
The door opened and saw his mom Margaret, holding a tray with his favorite chicken porridge, an apple and a cup of hot coffee.
Margaret: "Oh! you're awake!".
Jacob: "Who told you that I'm home already mom?".
Margaret: "Your bestfriend Paul called me up this morning, He told me that you are here but you didn't even text me?".
Jacob: "Mom, I was about to surprise you at the Restaurant".
Marget: "well son, I am so surprised"."get up and get dressed, you are late for work".
Jacob: "what time is it?".
Margaret: "Its 11:35 in the morning, you need to meet our new crews. finish your meal, take a bath and get back to work! vacation is over".
Margaret kissed her son's forehead and walk out of the room.
After Taking a shower, he changed his clothes. He wear his Jeans, body fit long sleeve shirt and his infinity bracelet.
Jacob: " Mom, are you going to be here till tonight?" He's shouting from his room.
Margaret: " No son, Im going with you. I need to go shopping for you.
Jacob: "Thanks mom, you're the best!".
Jacob and his mom left his condo unit, he dropped his mom to Ayala Mall and went to Irie Gastropubliko in IT park.

Irie Gastropubliko is a bar and restaurant in Cebu City that’s been around for a couple of years. Located on the Ground Floor of Skyrise 4 Building in the business district of Cebu I.T. Park, it caters mostly to those living and working in the area. They also get a lot of expats and craft beer enthusiasts from all over, who really seek out the place since it’s apparently the only place that you can try beers on tap from Turning Wheels Craft Brewery, Cebu’s first craft beer.

Irie serves a wide range of excellent appetizers and main dishes, mostly modern twists of Western and European dishes. The Premium Angus Burger, Angus Kebab and Steaks all sounded delicious. I was really tempted to order the Fat Bastard, one of their specialties, but was told that the serving was good for 2 people. The description alone was enough to make me drool: “Dry-rubbed incher pork chop, garlic shitake french beans, bacon grease garlic rice, sauvignon Blanc reduction mustard cream sauce.”...
Jacob arrived in the restaurant at 1PM, his crew greeted him..."Good afternoon sir, welcome back" Jacob smiled to his crew and went straight to his small office near the kitchen. The staffs we're shocked seeing their boss, they didn't know that he's coming back today.
Jacob has been checking its Daily Sales Report since he got in the office. He went out from his office to take a break.. Then he noticed theres a problem going on in the counter. He approached the counter...
Jacob: "What's the problem here?".he asked the cashier.
Cashier: "Sir, our magnetic stripe reader is not working".
Jacob: "You don't have cash maam?"
With much surprise... The customer raised her voice. "Ikaw na naman?! stalker ka ano?"
Jacob: "excuse me? ako? stalker mo? Hindi nga kita kilala eh!".
Customer: "Ikaw rin yung tangang bumangga sakin sa Chiang Mai!"..."at ngayon pati ba naman dito sa Cebu?".
Tumawag kayo ng Pulis! the woman shouted...
Jacob: "Haha at ako pa talaga ang stalker ha? parang ako pa ang dapat matakot sayo eh, fan siguro kita"!
the customer shouted and call the guard's attention...the guard approach the angry customer... "Paki dala nga nitong taong to sa labas! matagal na ata akong sinusundan nyan. manyak!" the customer said to the guard..
Guard: "Sorry maam, Hindi ko po magagawa yan."
Jacob: "Guard, ipakilala mo nga ako sa babaeng feelingerang to kung sino ako?
The customer looked puzzled....
the guard clears his throat,...then he started speaking,
Guard: "Maam, Sya po si Darren Jacob McBride, sya po ang May ari ng restaurant na ito at boss namin."
Jacob smiled after seeing the woman's face turning pale...
an awkward silence followed...
"Okay, dahil pinahiya mo ako ngayon at tinawag ng kung ano-ano sa harap ng maraming tao, you owe me a date!"..."and bayad na yung bill mo"..
The angry customer was about to speak when Jacob placed his index finger on the woman's lips...
"if you disagree, I will file a case towards you"... the woman cannot believe that this is happening to her now...
Jacob: "But before anything else, i need to know your name." Jacob's smile towards her was intimidating...
The Woman tries to calm herself,... I'm Aireen...
Jacob: " wow, thats a pretty nice name Aireen."..." so, why are you here in Cebu?.
Jacob escorted her to the vacant table near the glass door...
Aireen: "Actually, Im here for 3 days 4 nights Vacation with my workmates."
Jacob: "So i presumed you're not from here, you're from manila?".
Aireen: "Yes."
Jacob: "So, where are your friends?"
Aireen: "Umalis sila, bumili ng pagkain. kaso nagugutom na ako kanina kaya pumasok na ako dito, kung alam ko lang na makikita kita dito tiniis ko nalang sana."
Jacob: "You can start treating me nicely from now on". Jacob was smiling and trying to catch Aireen's eyes.
Aireen remain silent..... "so can i get your digits?" jacob said...
Aireen: "Private yun, at hindi dapat binibigay sa taong hindi ko kilala".
Jacob: "Kilala mo na ako, pinakilala na ako ng guard sayo. pero sige uulitin ko, I'm Darren Jacob McBride,6 foot tall,Sweet,Loving,Cute,Handsome and single..." Aireen couldn't help but laugh, "wow ggss". Aireen said...
Jacob: "ggss? what's that?"...
Aireen: "Hindi mo alam ano yun? weak! it means Gwapong gwapo sa sarili!"... "Bakit? hindi ba ako gwapo sa paningin mo? dami kaya nagkaka gusto sakin jan sa tabi-tabi..." Jacob insisted.. "well, that means not all women likes you Mr. McBride...and not me!"
Jacob looked at her seriously trying to lock his eyes with hers...
and then a long silence followed...
Jacob: "You'll gonna like me not now, but soon"...
Aireen: "You wished!"...
Jacob: "Anyway, here is my calling card, if hindi ka tatawag tonight hindi kana makakabalik ng Manila, I will be waiting Ms. Aireen".
Aireen gave him a snob...
Aireen's friends arrived and went out without saying a word to him... Jacob was just staring at her while she's walking outside the Restaurant...
Jacob can't help but smile, "Aireen huh". lets see...
