We Could Happen

CHAPTER NINETEEN

It was a beautiful day and after spending the night with Aireen.

the two were leaving for Thailand, hoping to witness the annual Lantern Festival. Jacob had planned a candle light dinner at their hotel in Chiang Mai. So, they were going to return before it gets dark. After passing a few kilometers, Jacob brought the car to a halt. (It was the same place where he is standing right now.)

Aireen looked surprised. She had no idea what’s going on. The two stood there face to face. She didn’t say anything but there were questions on her face. And then all of a sudden, he was on his knees with a diamond ring in his hands, asking her to marry him in front of everyone. Aireen was completely shaken. This was the most wonderful thing anyone had ever done for her. She couldn’t figure out what to do or say. Tears rolled out of her eyes. “Say yes. Say yes,” came the voices from behind. And wiping off the tears, she finally said, “Yes, I will.” And the two kissed in front of everyone and together they release their lantern.

Jacob: "I can still remember my wish the last time I came here, I was so down and hopeless. Sinabi ko sa sarili ko na dadalhin ko dito ang babaeng gusto kong makasama habang buhay, and then I bumped into you and never thought that it would be the beginning of everything"

Aireen: "I was meant to know you, love you and be with you, no matter how many obstacles we face, we will still be together forever, I love you so much Mr. McBride"

"And I love you too Mrs. McBride" He replied

her feelings were concerned, it was clear like a crystal. She’d choose him, in a hundred lifetimes, in hundred worlds and in all versions of reality. She had already decided her life with Jacob.

They went back to their Hotel and had their dinner. they took a picture together showing her ring and posted it on Instagram and Facebook so that their friends and families know about their engagement. The post earned almost five hundred likes and various comments from their friends congratulating the newly engaged couple.

They went back in Manila after a week.

They organized the engagement with the theme colors of Red and White. An amazing engagement party was planned with a guest list of about one hundred people at a good party hall with great music and sumptuous food.

Jacob and his mom went to Aireen's house and asked for her parents approval.

Luke: "Alam ko na marami na kayong napag daanan at napatunayan mo na rin na mahal mo ang anak namin. kaya kung saan sasaya si Aireen, yun din ang makakapag pasaya sa amin. kaya pumapayag na kami na maikasal na kayong dalawa"

Jacob and Aireen was so happy after hearing his father's approval.

The Wedding plans then began, everyone got busy planning the wedding for a couple of months. Aireen was very excited about her wedding and she always wanted a fairytale wedding.

Jacob's mom talked to her about their upcoming wedding.

Margaret: "Ai, I want you to take care of him. I know you love him so much"

Aireen: "Yes Auntie, I love him so much because I could see it in his eyes too the loyalty, the respect, the care and above anything his eyes held love for me. Then and there I knew that he was the right guy, the man I had been wishing for. His words didn’t reduce the sadness I felt of separating but it certainly let me know that I wasn’t alone and that he would be there always with me by my side. I had to admit that miraculously but I fell in love with him."

Margaret: "I am so happy for both of you Ai"

“I LOVE YOU.”

He held my face with his hands and I thought he was going to say the same instead he said

“I know that. I mean it’s pretty hard to not to fall for me isn’t it?” And winked. I playfully hit his harm.

Jacob went to the stage with Aireen and started speaking:

"Our life is no fairly tale. We had seen the darkest side and the brightest side of life, we had seen the pleasure and the pain, the joy and the sorrow. We did fight sometimes over the silliest things sometimes a major ones."Jacob said

"But like a true gentlemen that Deep is, true to his words he has been with me and for me on every turn. All the years played like a wind in my mind. As if sensing my thought…

I felt the coldness of my hand being replaced by a strong warm hand. Deep was holding my hand. He whispered “I AM THERE.” This I time replied “I know.” The rest we needn’t say because it is all in the heart" Aireen said

"Before,I thought I would never be able to love anyone again but I was wrong this time too.

Aireen came into my life and my life begun to grin. She brought happiness to my life once again and now I knew that she’s the reason why it didn’t work out with Felicity or anyone else.

I believe that we are always born incomplete. And there’s always someone in this world who has been born to complete us. To make us whole. We just have to wait for the right time to come and we’ll find that person eventually. People will always come and go in your life but one day you will find someone who’ll stay with you till the end." Jacob added

The crowd was so amazed by them, they gave them a loud applause.
Some of them are teary eyed including their parents and close friends.
Paul Jake and the rest of Jacob's friends are present.

The wedding day came and there were about two hundred people at the wedding. The theme for this wedding was Bottle-Green and Gold Color combination and decorated with wedding couples and hearts as the theme. The Wedding couple arrived in a vintage car, a classic Volkswagen Beetle.

The wedding went well as planned and Aireen was very happy that finally she was married to Jacob.
