We Could Happen

CHAPTER SEVEN

It's time to go...

Early in the morning, They all packed up and ready to go. Rhea,Kearl and Marla went out a bit to buy some souvenirs from the Island for their friends back home..

Aireen was so busy arranging her stuffs when Jacob approach her..
about last night...
"No it's okay" Aireen Interjected him..

Jacob: "Is there a chance para makapag usap tayo kahit malayo ka?"
Aireen: "May facebook naman,skype at alam mo number ko"
Jacob: "Galit ka ba sakin?"
Aireen: "No, aksidente ang nagyari kagabi...Nadala lang tayo"
"Okay," Jacob said..."after spending a few days with you, I know I was happy...thank you"

They reached the Maya Port and while on their way to the City, Aireen's friends noticed their silence..
Kearl break the Ice...

Kearl: "Bakit ang tahimik nyong dalawa? Kanina pa kayo sa bangka hindi umiimik ah?"
Marla: "B1,naiisip mo ba ang naiisip ko?"
Rhea: "Hindi B2 bakit?"
Marla: "May mag hihiwalay na kasi ng landas B1 kaya ganon"
Aireen: "Tumigil na kayo ha"
Jacob: "hayaan mo na sila totoo naman diba? mamimiss mo ako?
Aireen: "Whooo! ang lakas ng aircon oh!"
Rhea: "Iiwan kana lang namin dito sa Cebu haha"
Aireen: " Wala naman akong gagawin dito bakit ako mag papa iwan?"
Jacob: "Oo nga naman.."

After three hours of travel by car, they reached their Hotel at Radisson blu near SM City Cebu..

Jacob: "Can I invite you for a coffee?"
Kearl: "Go sis kami na mag dadala ng Bag mo sa room"
Aireen: "Sure ka? Mabigat pa naman to?"
Kearl: "Oo nga... Si Rhea naman mag bibitbit eh"
Rhea: "Ang daya talaga nito"..
Marla: "Sige na umalis na kayo, may 6 hours pa naman tayo before our flight"..
Jacob: "Don't worry, Ihahatid ko kayo sa Airport para hindi kayo ma traffic"
Kearl: "Ay talaga? Salamat talaga ng marami Jacob!"

Then they both headed to Starbucks just a few meters away from their hotel..

Jacob: "I'll missed you, I know its odd because we just met three days ago in a very awkward situation."
Aireen: "Me too, I am comfortable with you"

Aireen was scrolling down her phone, and browsing some of their photos in Malapascua and showed it to him...

Aireen: "Nakakatawa mukha mo dito sa stolen na ito!"
Jacob: "Oo nga sino ba kumuha nyan?haha"
Aireen: "Okay lang yan photogenic ka naman eh"
"ito pa oh... ang cute natin dito sa selfie" Aireen said..
Jacob: "Patingin nga..Oo nga ano..Bagay!"
Aireen: "Ang lalim ng dimples mo"
Jacob: "Oo, dagdag pogi points din yan"
Aireen: "Lakas ng hangin... Matatangay yata ako!
Jacob:" Maiba ako, marunong ka ba mag skate?"
Aireen: "Hindi eh bakit?"
Jacob: "Mag skate tayo, tuturoan kita!"
Aireen: "Talaga? sige! saan naman?"
Jacob: " Sa Sm Seaside, it's just a few kilometers away from here..."
Aireen nodded to agree... "Sinusulit mo talaga ha" she said..

Jacob: "Kulang naman kasi ang tatlong araw para libotin mo ang buong lugar dito sa Cebu.."

Aireen: "Sabagay, tatlong tourists destination lang ang napuntahan namin sa bakasyong ito.. salamat talaga"
Jacob: "wala yun."

they headed to the car and opened the door for her...
after 30 minutes drive with traffic, they reached the Mall...

Aireen: "Ang laki!"
Jacob: "Nakakapagod ikotin to"
Aireen: "Dali! Picturan mo ako dito sa Cube"
Jacob: "Akin na camera mo"
Aireen: "Ikaw naman!"
Jacob: "Ayoko,..."
Excuse me, Pwedi pa Picture? he asked the other woman to take a picture of them.. "Sure!" the woman replied

Jacob: "Gusto ko tayong dalawa"
Aireen smiled...

Jacob: "Tayo na nga sa loob"
Aireen: "Sige"

They took the elevator to reach the skating rink because it would be exhausting if they take the spiral stairs or take the escalators...

They paid the entrance fees and choose their Skating shoes...

"and let's not forget your helmet for safety" He said...

Aireen: "Wag mo akong bibitawan ha"
Jacob: "I won't"

Jacob stepped on the rink while holding her arms..

"Relax, you'll be fine"Jacob said to her
Aireen: "Nanginginig na tuhod ko Jacob!"
Jacob: "Now, slide your right foot forward, then your left... c'mon you can do this!"

"It sure is nice to have a hand to hold when skating on ice." she thought..

Jacob: "Okay, you're doing well... kaya mo yan... bibitawan na kita ha..
Aireen: "dyan ka lang sa tabi ko baka ma dapa ako nakakahiya, ang dami pa namang tao nanonood dito"

Jacob: "Sige, hahawakan ko nalang kamay mo tapos sabay tayo mag skate okay ba yun sayo?"... She nodded

Then suddenly, Aireen slips. he grab her waist and hugged her to protect her body from possible injury until they both fell on the rink...

She looked up to see it fall straight down on her. The man in helmets and skate pads. she felt someone topple on top of her. she mumbled a few cuss of words trying to get up, and Jacob as well, but it didn't work out so well because he slipped and fell on top of her again. "Well, he isn't that heavy" Aireen thought

A man with brown eyes and dark clean cut hair, he is so handsome!

"Hey,Are you okay?" he whispered. his arms felt strong. other than the skates and helmet, he was perfect.

He held himself up by his arms making sure he wasn't putting all of his weight on her.

He got up helping her up and brushed up her pants.

Jacob: "Are you sure you're okay?"
Aireen: "Dead sure! thank you"
Jacob: "Sometimes it's hard to pick yourself up everytime you fall down. Sometimes it's easy to lose the hope and determination. but that is what make us stronger".
Aireen: "I'll remember that"

After that they went out of the rink and removed all their knee and arm pads and the skates.

On their way to the parking lot, Aireen has a thought while walking behind him...
"Goodness, I am going to end up falling for him somehow, someway and I know it, I can feel it. He is handsome, kind, charming and funny that every woman could have asked for"

At the Airport,

One person realises they deeply, truly like another person. That other person is about to fly away to another Place to continue their life.
Jacob felt sad knowing that this would be the last night he could ever see Aireen, though sad, Aireen didn't show it to him.
He gave Kearl,Rhea and Marla a hug and say goodbye to them.

Kearl: "Mauuna na kami mag check in ha? May isang oras pa tayo Ai, and Jacob... bye... mamimiss kita at yung abs mo"!
Jacob: " I'm going to missed your Jokes too Kearl have a safe trip home.. bye guys"

Then he turned back to Aireen...

"How rare that a man would be so open in sharing", She said...
Jacob: "I'm Sorry?"
Aireen: "You are earnest and sincere. Plus, you speak about your passion for traveling and your thoughtfulness and I think that was sweet. You seemed friendly, sensitive, and without airs I liked how our conversation was going."

Jacob: "Well, me too we spent our last weekend together saying goodbye in a way that honored what we had. It was romantic, it was meaningful."
"Don't make me cry" Aireen said
Jacob: " shhhh. We will meet again okay?"

He looked at her with his gleaming eyes and brought her to his warm embrace. She sank her face into his chest as if to ask him to never let go as she put her arms around him..

"Maybe one day this could be something more." Jacob whispered to her ears..
