CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Waking up in the dream where he was in the same room with Aireen standing at the edge of his bed. She was twinkling like diamonds like some rutilant princess. She was smiling.

"Jacob..
I need to go..I was time bounded.Yes, i also crossed a boundary. Boundary between living and non living to reach you. I wanted to stay but i cannot. I wanted to keep patting you but i cannot. Just promise me you will never whiff again or start drinking. You will take care while crossing the road. You have to live two life now. One for yourself and one for me.

There is a girl in your office, Rhian. She loves you immensely but couldn't say it ever. Just give her the place you gave me. If you can,fall in love again. That's what i wish. I wish your safety, for your happiness and your long life.."

Aireen started moving back steps. Jacob was still clueless as it what was happening.

"Babe,Wait..where are you going and why you said all that?We are together.Whats wrong?Why would i consider Rhian?I love you..Listen here"..

Aireen didn't speak another word.Soon she disappeared.

Suddenly, Jacob woke up to the alarm clock's tone from this nightmare.He was sweating and tensed as to what he saw.

"Thank God.. It was just a dream..Babe..Babe!"
Jacob called Aireen not finding her beside him to tell her this dream which had shocked him.There was no answer.
"Aireen????!!"
He searched her in the entire flat.There was no sign.He looked at the time,it was 8 am.
"oh shit..She had a morning train..My alarm was set to 5, why did it ring at 8?"said Jacob confused.

Jacob thought Aireen had gone to catch her train and didn't disturb him while he was sleeping.

11am

Jacob left Manila without seeing Aireen, she have work today and can't make it to the Airport..

They spent months of texting, calling and even Facetime.

One day, Aireen's family received a call from the Police station.

Police: "Hello maam good afternoon, this is PO1 Salazar, Regarding po sa case ni Mr. McBride, meron na po kaming nakuhang detalye sa mga tao malapit sa pinangyarihan ng krimen at base na rin po sa cctv footage malapit sa lugar.

Aireen was shocked and eager to know who did it to him.

Aireen: "Sige po, puponta ako dyan in few minutes"

Aireen Called Jacob to tell him about the call she just received.

Aireen: "Hello babe? may na received akong tawag galing sa mga police. may nakita na daw silang suspect sa may gawa sayo nyan".

Jacob: " Really babe? sigeh kukuha ako ng ticket mamaya, I will take the 10am flight bukas sa CebuPac.

Aireen: "Okay babe see you and take care. I love you so much"

Aireen was driving to the police station, Traffic was so heavy that time.
And suddenly a man came out of nowhere and got into her car..

Aireen: "Sino ka?!.... at bakit..."
before she finish her words, she was trembling after seeing the man sitting beside her.

Aireen: "Z-Zach?"

Zach: "Yes Aireen, It's me... at nalaman ko rin na.. buhay pa yung boyfriend mo. may lahi rin palang pusa ang hayop na yun!"

Aireen: "You mean..."

Zach: "Yes Ai, That was me. and now susundin mo lahat ng sasabihin ko, Mag Uturn ka sa may dulo!"

Aireen: "B-Bakit? saan mo ako dadalhin!!"

Zach: "Sa Malayo".
Zach giving her an evil smile and pointed a gun to her.

She can't do anything but follow Zach's commands.

While on their way...

Aireen: "Ang sama mo! you can't get away with this! hindi ka tatantanan ni Jacob pag nalaman nya ito! he will come after me!"

Zach: "that's exactly what I want Ai, gagawin kitang pain, at pag dumating na sya, pahihirapan ko sya sa harap mo!"

Aireen: "Hayop ka!"

Zach: "Not another word from you Ai, just shut up and drive!"

It was pass 6pm when they arrived in Batangas.

They reached into a abandoned house, he tied a rope on her wrists and drag her all the way to the abandoned house.

Zach: "Tayong dalawa lang ang nandito, pwede kong gawin lahat ng gusto ko sayo ngayon"

Aireen: "Hayop ka talaga!!"

Zach: "Wala ring mangyayari kung mag pupumiglas ka dyan, mas lalong hihigpit yang tali."

Aireen's phone rings, Zach took her phone from her purse, It's Jacob..

Zach: "Tingnan mo nga naman, yung Prince Charming mo tumatawag"

Zach answered the phone while covering Aireen's mouth.

Jacob: "Hello babe? san kana? kanina ka pa daw tinatawagan ng mom mo, 10pm na at hindi ka pa daw umuuwi"

Zach: "Hello Jacob? kamusta?!

Jacob: "Sino to? at bakit nasayo ang phone ng girlfriend ko?!"

Zach: "you don't recognize me?? naaalala mo ba yung sinuntok mo noon?

Jacob: "Zachary?!"

Zach: " Ayuuun! akala ko nagka amnesia kana! "

Jacob: "Nasaan si Aireen! pag may mangyaring masama sakanya hinding hindi na kita bubuhayin!"

Zach: "Hanggang ngayon maangas ka parin Jake, tingnan natin yang tapang mo"

Jacob: "Ano ba ang gusto mo at pati si Aireen dinadamay mo?!"

Zach: "Gusto mo talagang malaman? pumonta ka dito ng mag isa, pag tumawag ka sa mga pulis, hindi mo na makikitang buhay ang girlfriend mo!"

Jacob: "Gusto kong makausap si Aireen! siguradohin mong wala syang galos kundi papatayin talaga kita!

He place the phone on Aireen's ears..

Aireen: "Jake wag kang susunod sa mga sinasabi nya!"

Jacob: "Shhhh baby, Magiging okay din ang lahat, ililigtas kita, I love you so much..."

Aireen: "Jacob, papatayin ka nya!"

Jacob: "Shhhh I know baby, but I can't let you die either"

Enough of your drama! zach shouted

Zach: "Kapag hindi ka sumunod sa usapan, mamamatay sya!

Jacob called her parents and told them about Aireen's captor

Jacob was driving to the place that zach gave him. when he saw the sudden flash of light in his rearview mirror. A deep rumble thundered through the night air, startling him.
Fireworks? he wondered. too early for Christmas...
He focused on the road, his thoughts still on the 911 call he'd placed from the gas station's payphone.

Jacob had successfully convinced the 911 dispatcher to send the police to the location Zach gave him.

He also called Aireen's parents not to do anything yet so that Zach will not notice his plans.

The terrifying revelation of his attacker's true identity had changed everything. Jacob had no idea what to think anymore. all he knew for certain was that the same man who almost take his life had now captured Aireen.

"Madman!" he whispered

Unexpectedly, the fireworks in his rearview mirror grew brighter, the initial flash followed by an unexpected sight....

Then, like an oncoming truck, it hit him.
