Chapter 13/Cast away on a desert island

They stood and watched as the seaplane with Katie in it took off. Fox Oswald fell to the floor and just sat down his head bowed staring at the sand.

'we've got to get after' them begged Trixie.

'How?' shouted Fox Oswald 'look at my plane, my beautiful plane.'

Even from the beach Trixie could feel the warmth of the fire on her cheek. Nathan waded to the plane, he trying to scoop sea water on to the flames.

Fox Oswald was down cast. 'I gave her to her how could I be so stupid? Why did she have to go and shoot my tail off!' he sobbed to him self. 

Trixie couldn't get much sense out of Fox Oswald. He seemed very miserable. Nathan put the fire out and returned to shore smelling of burnt wood and sea water.

'We've got to save her!' said Trixie.

'Look around you with what?' said Nathan holding out his arms. 

Trixie was almost as tearful in anger as Fox Oswald was at this point, then she said the only thing she could think of.

'OK Nathan you've left me without a choice. I'm going to do the only thing I can. Magic Sheep, Magic Sheep won't you do this wish for me, Magic Sheep, Magic Sheep this is what I like to see, Magic Sheep won't you rescue the princesses for me.'

Nathan looked at the angry nearly tearful girl in front of her and paused.

'You said you believed in sheep magic' said Trixie determinedly.

'I do' said Nathan dumb struck.

'Lets get this right young miss. You want me to go after a fully armed sea plane with a child and a Fox full of regrets? Or do you want me to fly to the sky palace surrounded by the Kingdom's fleet of a thousand ships and rescue a cat princess who's so selfish won't help her people? No, the alliance is over she's seen to that' said Nathan bitterly.

'Yep. If it was easy it would be Magic' said Trixie. 

Nathan paused again.

'I grant your wish' he said, putting his hand on her shoulder.

Nathan sun around and marched up the beach.

'He's crazy, Where's he going?' said Fox Oswald.

'He's going to rescue Kitty' said Trixie proudly.

'Looks like crazy is catching' shouted Nathan walking off.

'Gone to rescue Kitty? We can't even eat here. They are going to find our bodies surrounded by all the money in the world but dead from starvation.'

For the moment Trixie agreed with Fox Oswald. It would take some powerful sheep magic to get them off the island. Her hopeful smile dropped next to Fox Oswalds misery.

Her smile sprung back when, Trixie heard the sound of a plane's engine chugging at low speeds. Nathan's plane came round the coast and suddenly she felt stupid. Nathan must have a plane to got there. Fox Oswald looked.

'How are we going to get any were in that thing it's tiny?' he complained. 

He was right, it was a small plane, not big enough for three. Nathan ran the his plane up the beach and got out and tied Fox Oswald's plane to his with a long rope.

'I'm going back to Lord Beardsmore. I'm going to tell him that the Kingdom has Kitty. We've got to rescue her, but I'll tell you now, the alliance isn't big enough to stop the sky Kingdom's army.'

'Oh' said Trixie.

Nathan went to Fox Oswald.

'The alliance can't defeat the Kingdom's Army but with the help of the pirate brotherhood they might have a chance. If you love that woman Fox, you've got to go and get the Odessa clan and the entire pirate brother hood to rescue their captain.'

'Do you know how mad that is ? That's madder than putting a waist coat on a cod and calling it a harpsichord.. They will probably just kill me as soon as I land. I've met lemmings with longer life plans than that' said Fox Oswald.

'They might well do, the pirates in Torganda are known do that.' agreed Nathan.

'I'm coming to' said Trixie.

Both Fox Oswald and Nathan explained that the journey they were about to undertake was far too dangerous. Trixie was determined to go with Fox Oswald she still didn't trust him.

Trixie had an idea 'We can take some of Kitty's gold with us. If they think they can get some of her treasure then they might let us live'

Nathan nodded.

'and just how do you expect us to get to Torganda in a burnt out plane?' said Fox Oswald still rolled up with his knees against his chest.

'Not enough time. The engine is gone but the controls still work. I can tow you half way to Torganda and then you can glide the rest. There is another complication though' said Nathan.

'I don't like complication's' said Fox Oswald. 'being stuck on a desert island is complex enough'.

'What is it?' said Trixie.

'you see Harold the true king he's is just a caretaker. When Kitty run away she never formally abdicated.'

'What's abdicated ?' asked Trixie.

'Gave up the job of being queen' said Nathan like a teacher.

'At first people thought she'd been kidnapped, so Harold wasn't made the proper King. He was made stewart - a care taker. After seven years if she hasn't really appeared then he can crown himself as the true King. That's why he wanted her captured. He needed to get her to sign the papers of abdication, or he needed proof of her death. For seven years she's still the rightful Queen.'

'Tell me, did she happen to run away seven years ago' said Trixie.

'Yes. Well seven years minus 5 days. If she doesn't claim the throne in five days time then Harold about will be the rightful emperor and there is nothing in the sky law can do to stop it. The army, air force and the Navy ow allegiance to the rightful ruler. They don't like the Harold, the Kingdom's navy was never intended to invade people. They don't like Harold but when he is King they will do what ever he said.'

'There's always a but a this point' said Trixie.

'But' Nathan started.

'Told you' said Trixie.

'But, if the princess turns up in person before the limit is up enough of them will come to the alliance side. After that it's all over'

'so we have five days to rescue her. I'm glad you made that clear I was beginning to think was getting all to easy.' said Fox Oswald.

It was starting to get dark. Nathan and Fox Oswald spent the rest of the evening trying to fix Fox Oswald's plane. By bed time Fox Oswald announced he was the proud owner of a glider.
