Hi, hello, is this thing working? Oh alright. Here we go, it's time to do some explaining. You guys all know the story of the Mockingjay Rebellion right? If you don't, I suggest you go back and study it in History class before you listen to this. Because this may have a lot of spoilers, and warning: much blood. So, you go do that, and I'll continue entertaining the rest of you.

My name is Larise Parigood. I live in District Seven, home to all the lumberjacks you can count and more. And of course, I am naturally skilled with an axe if you can't tell. I'm also fifteen and have a horrible love life. Ah, the last bit was unnecessary right now, but it will come in later. I promise you.

Just remember, horrible love life. We good? We good. In school, we learned of the Hunger Games, an event where twenty four children fight to the death and only one comes out as the Victor who will be showered in riches and blah blah blah. This happened because of a war like, about a hundred thirty years ago so.

In my point of view, the games are kind of ridiculous, because you're plaguing a generation that had nothing to do with what their ancestors did to participate in a death match, to well, the death. But it's also a way to discipline the people, because if you look at the country of Panem now, you'd compare us to a bunch of toddlers.

Anywho, the rebellion started when this sixteen year old girl named Katniss Everdeen volunteered for her twelve year old sister who was reaped to go into the Hunger Games. This "boy with the bread" guy named Peeta Mellark was reaped also who just happened to have this gigantic crush on her which made everything really awkward.

In the Games, they appeared as the "Starcrossed Lovers of District Twelve" which ultimately saved both of their lives when they threatened to commit suicide at the same time if they didn't take both of them out of the arena. This caused some districts to uprise, thinking they were trying to defy the Capitol on purpose, when really they just both wanted to get out alive.

Sooo, the solution was, put them back in back in the Games with a bunch of Victors. Yeah, horrible choice. This started a full out rebellion which turned into a war that the Districts won and the Hunger Games were ended once and for all.

Well, not really.

Four years ago, President Carter reinstated the Hunger Games as a discipline for the people because we were whining too much. I actually agree with the guy, everyone thinks it's appropriate to go on strikes now just because they want something. Guys, there is something called dealing with it. You should try it out some time.

But we have some new rules now.

Instead of twenty four children, there's twenty eight. President Carter added District Thirteen and the Capitol. I guess it's fair now, because no one misses out. It's even possible that his own children could be reaped and he couldn't stop it.

Also, the number of Victors is three. So I guess more hope and whatnot. I don't know what we're supposed to take out of that, but at least we have more people coming home.

Finally, the Quarter Quells have been replaced with something called the Fourth Olympics. This is a Fourth Olympic year. I'd say we're all doomed if I knew the surprise.

My family, which composed of my parents, me, and my twin brother Leo, were huddled around the television. Me and Leo always seemed to be around eachother, we were inseparable quotes my parents. Okay, yes, it was true, we cling to eachother. You may even see Leo butt into the story and tell it from his view, but that's not important.

(There he is, bugging me about taking the camera away)

We were waiting for the Reapings date this year. I sat on Leo's lap —because he insisted, and plus he's taller then me anyway— as the interview man, Hector Blackjack announced the information for this year's Games. After some time watching we finally caught the date, which was a week from now. And also Leo's, and my birthday. Isn't that nice?
