I really don't know what to say for the least. I mean, me and Larise, we reached the mountains, which is apparently a safe haven if it's the only place not being struck by the earthquake. I watched as trees were uprooted as the forest was destroyed, I watched the river flood the clearing where the Cornucopia was, I watched the Arena crumble into a widening gap.

I turned to Larise, who was still upset over Draco's death. I would tell her about that he had actually escaped the Arena, but she didn't seem too keen on talking to me. Since I was the one who tied the rope around his hands. I didn't bother trying to force my way into her life. He was her best friend after all. It's best I don't interfere.

We were about halfway up the mountain by now, waking up early to catch up to Jack and his alliance. We ran into Abaha from Five, who almost skewered me if it weren't for Larise. Basically, we killed Abaha. The second death that happened earlier was unknown. My best guess is the remaining Careers. If they're even still together.

Fen is probably fuming, Casper would be plotting our deaths, and Parka... Well, Parka is probably trying to avoid their wrath. I twirled an arrow between my fingers to keep myself occupied. Soon, I spotted two figures hopping about, trying not to die. They were awfully close to the mountains, but in they're exhausted state, they wouldn't be much of a threat.

I couldn't tell who the two were from our distance from the base of the mountain, but I could vaguely make out a brunette and blonde. Either Fen and Parka, or Casper and Parka. Most likely the latter. As they neared the waterfall that marked the beginning of the mountains, the shaking faded.

And then it stopped.

I breathed a sigh of relief as it was safe to begin climbing again. Larise narrowed her eyes at the pair who had stopped, her golden brown hair bobbing around her head as she scanned the ground below us. I tapped her shoulder, she swiveled her gaze to me, her brown eyes blazing.

"Let's go, we have more ground to cover. It's likely the others stopped, so we have time to gain on them," I explained. She scowled but stood up and continued up the mountain path. I rolled my eyes at her dramatics and followed her.

As we continued climbing, I began contemplating ways to break the news to Jack. I never saw Jack as an over emotional person, but I didn't want to straight out tell him he was a science project. But I didn't want to sugar coat anything, he needed the truth. I started to wonder how he would react, would he pull an angry Larise, or a fuming Fen? Would he react at all?

Would he even accept it?

My even breathing came out as stuffy white fog in the chilly mountain air. My hiking boots were starting to feel worn out, I haven't done a lot of climbing in my time. I glanced below us again, catching the dust settling, and the destruction starting to peak out. I returned my focus to the mountain again and began to climb a little faster.

After an hour or so, Larise and I stop for a small break, nibbling on some dry crackers. If there is one thing I can't forgive Jack for, it's for letting his alliance take all the biscuits. These crackers taste disgusting. My lips trembled as I brought another one to my lips, I was mentally gagging. Once we finished the rest of the pack, we resumed our climbing.

Now, I could vaguely spot five familiar figures above us, almost to the peak of the mountain. I pointed it out to Larise who almost cracked a smile. We trodded along another path before we had to begin climbing the rocky ledges again.

We were making good progress, and I swear I could hear that Raina bitch arguing with Karina from Two. Larise seemed to speed up as the group came closer into view. She was itching to grab her axe and throw it at someone. Hopefully not Jack, but with Larise, it was a possibility.
