Hi everyone! Finally this chapter came! It took so long to find the right song to write this story but here it is :) Hope you guys enjoy! This is based on Droplets by Colbie Caillat feat. Jason Reeves. (Best part is- it's a duet ;) )

Squirrelflight had heard Bramblestar before she had scented him. Who wouldn't? That noisy furball was yowling all the way down the hole. She hissed in anger and frustration, out of all cats, it had to be him who fell down the same hole. At first she was frozen, unsure of what to do next, should she  confront him or run away? She chose the latter.

Darkness enveloped her, she could not see where she was running to and she used only her whiskers to help guide her through this never ending tunnel. Her mind swam with uncertainty, should she go help Bramblestar? Maybe he was hurt, lying there, and needing some cat to help him. Her heart was torn with indecision. After all, she was once his mate and furthermore, he was her leader and clanmate.

I'm leaving you
I'm not sure if that's what I should do

Just as she thought of stopping and turning back to help him, the image of him and Jessy flashed across her before her eyes as clear as the blue sky during greenleaf and she faltered.

 It hurts so bad

Her heart ached for Bramblestar but she could not relive the experience again, she couldn't face him, not after what he said to her. "He made you fall down this hole," she reminded herself.

I'm wanting you but can't go back

She took a deep breath, she needed to make a decision because with every step she was taking, she was getting further and further away from Bramblestar......

Trying to find, to find
That all elusive piece of mind

Squirrelflight decided to turn back but just as she did, something caught her scent, it smelt like fresh air, not the musty damp air of the tunnel. Should she go ahead and see whether it led to an open path back to the clan above her? Or should she first go back to check on Bramblestar? Her heart thumped, should she even give herself hope that there was a way out? What would it be like if Bramblestar was beside her right now, what would he say? What would he do?

 Stuck here somehow

Shrouded beneath my fear and doubt
And I don't need it

Squirrelflight hissed in agitation and forced herself to calm her racing thoughts, she had to be strong. She had to think, that was the way to get things done in the clan and it shouldn't be so different here, she was still a clan deputy wherever she went. And Bramblestar was still clan leader.

Cause I'm walkin down this road alone and figured all I'm thinking bout is you, is you

Her head shook to clear her mind off Bramblestar, she needed to focus!

my love

That thought ran across her mind- an uncalled thought, that's for sure, she hissed. The word "my love" totally did not apply to Bramblestar at all, if he was really her love, he would have stuck with her instead of going after Jessy. No, Greenfern is her true love. Even so, she felt uncertain as she told herself that. She pushed it away, these depressing thoughts was making her feel like giving up. She would help Bramblestar after investigating this new scent for she knew that was eventually the right thing to do, for now, he would have to wait.

And my head is in a cloud of rain and the world it seems so far away

She thought hard, if earlier on it was raining heavily, there should be droplets of rain still. If what she was smelling was an open hole or an opening to this tunnel, there should be droplets! She hurried ahead, her mouth parting open to get a clearer scent, a wave of hope rose up in her, she will get out of here!

and I'm just waiting for

The droplets, droplets
