It was Saturday.

The day I would be officially accepted into the pack.

Also the day I'd be telling,basically the entire supernatural world what I was.

So all in all,today was the day that shit got real.

I was going to be accepted this afternoon and then the ball in the evening. It had been a lot of fun planning it and Micha was totally right about Sara going haywire. I mean you'd think the woman was twelve.

I hadn't gone to school this week. I just felt like that was so small compared to everything else that was going on in my life right now. I felt afraid all the time. What if no one believed me? I couldn't even rely on my gryphon to be there when I needed to shift since apparently I hadn't accepted her fully yet. I just can't take all those shit from her anymore. It's like I never do anything right according to her.

"Hey girl. What are you thinking about?"

Sara's question made me realise that I'd totally spaced out.

"Nothing." I replied simply.

I hadn't told neither her nor Aiden what I was and it was weighing heavy on me. How could I tell other people before I tell my closest friends,it just felt wrong.

"Actually I was thinking of something. Something I have to tell you." I gulped.

"You can tell me anything, you know that." She encouraged.

I nodded.

"Call Aiden, I have to tell him too."

Aiden was there in a heartbeat,probably thinking that something was wrong.

"What's up?"

"Kat has something to tell us honey."

Aiden turned to look at me expectantly. My throat was suddenly tight and my heart was beating a million miles a minute. I didn't have to be nervous I told myself they were my friends. They'd believe me. Accept me.

"Ummmm well. Uhhhhh you guys know about that story about the three kingdoms like a gazillion years ago right?"

They both nodded.

I took a deep breath,trying to steady my nerves. Atleast I wouldn't have to explain that.

"Ok,great. So ummm you know about the king and queen, the gryphons. Right?"

Again they nodded. Was I the only one who didn't know about this crazy story.

"So you know about the prophecy about I don't know, a gryphon coming back to rule again and restore balance or some shit like that."

They looked a little bit skeptical now.

"I have heard about it,but I mean it's just a story." Aiden said.

"Weeeeelllll..... "

"What? You think it's real?"

"I know it's real."

"Really?" That was Sara.

"No." Aiden said vehemently

"Come on Kat. It's just a bedtime story to give kids hope that this world could get better."

I narrow my eyes at him. Can I hear pessimist.

"Kat?"

I turned to Sara and tried to look as earnest ad possible. Was this how tonight going to be?
