When I woke up my mate was still beside me which made my heart flutter.

I was beside him with his arm wrapped tightly around me. He looked so peaceful. His face in that moment made me want to believe that everything was just fine, but I knew better.

I raised my hand and traced designs on his face softly. I was so wrapped up in what I was doing that I didn't even notice that he had opened his eyes. His stormy grey orbs were staring intently into my brown ones. I wanted to look away but I couldn't find the strength.

"Good morning beautiful." His voice was husky and deep. Sexy.

I blushed and pulled my hand back before sitting up. I wanted to ask him for something but I was shy. I mean what if he said no?

I chewed on the inside of my cheek before I sighed and turned to him.

"I need to ask you for something."

"Anything."

Come on Kat,you can do it.

"Ummm can I, maybe,use your uh phone?" I whispered, half hoping that he wouldn't hear me.

I jumped when he broke out into a deep belly laugh. Beautiful.

"That's what you were so afraid to ask? Ya sure."

I huffed and crossed my arms across my chest.

"I was not scared."

"Mhm."

I sucked my teeth at him but still accepted the phone.

I had been thinking about doing this for a very long time and I don't know why I hadn't done it yet. Probably because I was so wrapped up in myself. Gosh I can be so selfish sometimes.

My heart travelled to my throat as I waited for her to pick up. She probably wouldn't, she didn't know this number after all.

I had half a mind to hang up,she wouldn't want to talk to me after all this time,but I missed her so much.

Her voice brought me out of my inner battle.

"Hello?" She asked.

I felt tears prick at my eyes.

"Hellooooo, if you don't answer me I'm hanging up."

She was annoyed.

"Don't...Please."

I couldn't manage anything above a whisper.

"Kat?"

Now she was whispering too.

"Hey."

I pulled the phone away from my ear when I heard her scream.

"Oh my gosh! I have missed you so much. I can't believe I'm actually talking to you right now."

I chuckled. Still the same.

We talked for what felt like hours and probably was. I watched my mate take a shower get dressed and pull out his laptop to work.

"What was all that about all the alphas and lunas going to your pack?"

"It was just a ball."

I felt terrible for lying to her but she was so happy and I couldn't stand to be the one to ruin it.

"Ya and pigs just fly. Come on tell me."

I couldn't help laugh. This girl.

"Don't worry,everything will be explained when you're alpha gets home."

Just then my stomach grumbled.

"But- "

"Sorry I have to go. Food awaits."

I could practically feel her scowling at me.

"Fine. Bye Kitty Kat."

I groaned at the nick name.

"Bye Haley."

Micha and I walked quietly, hand in hand,to the dining room where we were having breakfast with the other alpha couples.

When we walked in all the alphas and lunas dropped to the ground on their knees and their foreheads to the floor. Good thing that floor was clean.

I didn't want to, but I couldn't help feel smug when they collectively said 'Your Majesty.'

I waited a moment before I spoke.

"Rise." My held high. Damn, I was milking this.

They all got to their feet and stepped behind their seats waiting for Micha and I to take ours first.

When we all sat down the room was tense and there was absolutely no noise as if,if I heard a single fork scrape against the plate I'd have their heads.

I stared at Micha for a while. He was sitting across from me on the other side of the long table. So far. I gave an inward groan before I turned to the woman beside me and smiled.

"Hello."

She chocked on her bacon before she righted herself.

"Your Highness." She said,her head bowed.

I almost rolled my eyes. Funny how fast people change.

I started up a conversation with the young luna and soon everyone else in the room was chatting away.

I wanted to smile. If felt nice being in the company of others even if they were making fun of me just yesterday.

When the meal was over, Micha stood and walked over to me before he pulled out my chair and offered me his hand.

I grinned and placed my hand in his and we walked out together. He was leading me to his office when I remembered something.

"Micha I have to go do something."

He narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

"Something like what?"

I rolled my eyes.

"I'll tell you when I get back,promise."

I made sure to pout slightly.

I could see his resolve crumbling.

"Where?"

"The forest."

"Alone!" He bellowed.

"Oh come off it,it won't be the first I'm alone in there."

His eyes grew sad. I hadn't meant to guilt trip him but if that got me outside then so be it.

He let out a sigh.

"Be back before dark."

"Ofcourse." I turned to go but he pulled me back fast successfully landing me on his chest.

"Don't I get a 'see you later' kiss?"

"Nope."

I straggled against him.

"Oh come on, I know you want to."

I huffed.

"You're wasting my time."
I growled.

I tried to look angry but I couldn't fight the smile that worked it's way onto my lips.

"Fine." He whined like a baby and his shoulders drooped.

"Bloody hell." I muttered before I put my hand behind his neck and pulled him down to me,giving him a quick kiss before letting go and running to the door.

I stepped out into the light, breathed in the fresh air and revelled in the sunshine.

"OK,time to talk to Kal." I whispered to myself.
