Is this some sort of prank? I don't know anyone with that name. What are you talking about, Miss? Do I even know you? Don't try to give silly excuses! Look, Sara. It's over, you're fired, and that's final! Liam's words echoed in my mind as I pressed my cell phone's buttons dialing his number. Thirty-eight calls and ten messages! I was starting to worry about his reaction. Will he actually forgive me? Or be like the Liam in my dream? My heart thumped for what seemed like eternity as I waited for him to pick up. Many thoughts came to me drowning my mind with fear, worry, and anxiety. "Sara?! Is that you?!" I heard a stunned voice say.

"Yes, it's me," I answered.

"Where have you been?!  Do you know how worried we were?!" he screamed.

"I'm very sorry, Liam."

"Do you know how much work I had to do for the past two days?!" he interrupted angrily.

"I know I left without saying a word, but."

"Why didn't you call and say you weren't coming?! Why didn't you answer your phone?!" he ranted cutting off my sentence.

"Just listen!" I retorted impatiently.

"Fine!" he answered, sounding displeased.

"I had an accident," I said bluntly.

"Oh! Are you okay?!" he said, concern filling his voice.

"I'm fine, just a few scratches," I answered.

"What happened?!"

"I was going to the bakery just after hanging up with Eliza. I called a taxi, and after I rode, I discovered that the driver was drunk. Unfortunately, it was too late. I couldn't leave the car, and even when I tried begging him to stop, he just ignored me,"

"Didn't I tell you a million times to check the driver before you ride?! You can never trust those cab drivers!" he interrupted me again.

"Can you please stop cutting me off like that?!" I replied.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," he said sounding a bit guilty.

"Where was I? Yes, the drunk driver. A few minutes later, he turned and suddenly drove in the opposite lane. I think you can guess what happened after that."

"Yeah, that idiot hit another car, and you got into an accident," he said angrily.

"Exactly, and when I woke up, it was already past midnight, so I spent the rest of the night at the hospital that I was brought to. The next morning the doctors recommended I undergo a few scans to check I was alright. Then, I had to stay for another few hours because the police were questioning the witnesses who were mainly all at the hospital. By the time I got home, I was very exhausted and slept until it was eight. I tried to call you and apologize for not coming to work, but my phone was dead, and my house phone wasn't working."

"That's weird" he commented.

"Yeah, and that's why I was surprised to receive a call yesterday night from a man who said he was my cousin. He saw the ad you published in the news and said he wanted to meet me. So I'm going to see him in a few hours," I said telling him the story I fabricated with Natallie.

"Your cousin? What if he's lying?" he commented.

"I'm gonna meet him and will know for myself."

"Fine, take care, and don't let him trick you," he answered teasingly.

I giggled and said, "Typical Liam, always too worried."

"Hey! I'm not too worried! You can't just trust a stranger who calls saying he's your cousin!"
