Beyoncé.

"Hello?" She answered hesitantly cuz she knew what was coming.

"Stop trying to get us together." I growled.

"Who me?" She gasped. "I've done nothing of the sort!"

"Stop the innocent act, bitch, I already know. That stunt you pulled yesterday was unacceptable." I said mugging her.

She busted out laughing. "Did y'all talk at least?"

"A little bit."

"Were you listening?"

"I heard him..."

"But were you hearing him?" She stressed. "I'm not saying what he did was right, I'm saying that as adults y'all have to move past this. One day you'll look back on this and laugh."

"I don't know maybe one day but, no time soon." I shrugged as if she could see me.

"Stop being difficult."

"Whose side are you on?" She sighed. "What would you have done if Tim did that? Where would y'all stand?"

She stayed silent. "That's what I thought."

"I get it Bey baby but, you have got to hear him. I mean really listen."

"Whatever. I don't want to talk about him anymore."

She sucked her teeth. "Tell me why Mr. Nelson gave me a fucking C on that paper!"

"Girl, I got a B!" I said mad.

"At least it's higher than a damn C."

"But, If you do good on the next one it will balance out." I said trying to make her feel better.

"Yeah and what if I don't?" She whined.

"Aren't you always the one telling me to stop thinking about the negatives first?"

"You're right."

"As always." I laughed. "Hold on, somebody is calling. I'll call you later."

"Alright, boo."

I pressed the 'end and accept' button, "Hello?"

"Bey, don't hang up." He rushed.

"What's up, Shawn?" I said irritated.

"I know you don't want to hear from me right now but..." He sounded sad.

"What's wrong?" My voice coming out softer than it had previously.

"It's mom. Her clock is ticking and she said she wanted to see you... My girlfriend."

"I know you are not asking me to lie to your mother on her death bed."

He sighed. "I expected you to say something like that. No, I do not want you to lie to her. I want you to put our differences aside and come see her."

"I hate how you always find a way to talk to me, you make it hard to ignore you." He chuckled. "And when am I supposed to see her? You don't have to be there."

"Let me pick you up."

"It's not a date and I have a car."
