Clockwork Angel
Clockwork Prince
Clockwork Princess
*types through the ever-flowing tears*
Man, what can I say about the series that destroyed my life? Let's see.
SYNOPSIS: It is set in London, during the time of Queen Victoria, 1878. It follows the story of Tessa Gray, a girl who believes herself to be an ordinary human girl. She moves from New York to London on the call of her brother, but finds herself locked in the world of Downworlders, finding along the way that she is not completely human. Then when the Shadowhunters rescue her and bring her to their Institute, she finds herself sucked into their world and their battles as she, before being rescued, was to be their destruction at the hands of an evil mastermind. Among all this, she is drawn towards two boys, dark and mysterious Will and sweet and kind Jem (who happens to be . . . er, sick *sob*). Filled with tales of love, heart-break, brotherhood, loyalty, nobility, and much more, this series is beautiful and epic and nothing can or will ever be able to match it. It will leave you emotionally scarred forever.
The characters are all so amazingly built. You love them and feel their pain and happiness as if it were your own, the major and minor alike. Some you want to strangle, some you want to pat on the back, while some you just want to take into your arms and never let go.
The end of Clockwork Princess, mainly the epilogue, has had widely-known traumatic effects on fans all over the world, including me. This was the start of my fear of emotionally traumatizing epilogues. Clockwork Princess is also known to be the best YA fiction book of 2013. Just go to any TID fan and ask them what it means to them and ... uh, don't be startled when they start crying right there. It's totally normal.
When you're reading it, it's like being stabbed over and over again by a blunt knife. It's like being dragged over a bed of coals. The whole thing lodges itself into your heart like a shard of glass and it hurts and never leaves but you still like it. You love it.
When I was reading the epilogue of Clockwork Princess, ... I was sobbing and crying and drowning in my tears and it was like I couldn't breathe. I'm still scared of it. And no matter how many times you read it, the feelings stay the same.
This series is beautiful through and through and will never leave your heart. You must read it!
WARNING: It may cause deppression, that can stretch out for months, the inability to even look at the books again because they scare you so much, and crying whenever someone mentions it, etc etc.

P.S. Do not ever ask me to choose between Will and Jem or the ships Wessa and Jessa because that is just impossible for me because I can never choose one over the other. NEVER.
