SYNOPSIS: Lorien was a planet, where the Loric people lived under constant threat of the Mogadorians from the planet Mogadore. The Loric lived in two tribes, the Garde and the Cepans. The Garde is comprised of the people with magical abilities (eg telekinesis, controlling fire, water, wind or earth etc) and the Cepans are the ones with no magical abilities. The Cepans usually train the young Garde in controlling their abilities (or "Legacies" as called in the books) and the Garde in turn protect Lorien. The lifestyle of the Mogadorians is that their weapons are fueled from life and so they go from planet to planet, obliterating them, killing the people, and gathering their life force. The same threat was faced by Lorien. In the face of an upcoming attack, the nine Loric Elders gathered nine Garde children and each Elder gave a child his own Legacies to inherit. They gave then numbers (1 to 9). They then put a curse on all of them that would ensure that, for example, if the Mogadorians came at Number 2 while Number 1 was living, they could not kill him and any blow inflicted would be in turn inflicted on them (kinda like the Mark of Cain), and so on. So they would have to start killing from Number 1 onwards. But if, after leaving Lorien, any one of them met another, the curse would be broken and the Mogadorians could kill anyone of them in any pattern. When any child would be killed, a mark would appear on the other 8 children's ankles that would tell them that he has been killed. After this, they assigned every child a Cepan, and sent them to planet Earth, where they would live a life of constant wandering and keeping off the grid. Lorien was obliterated and all the people killed, save the nine Garde and Cepans. On Earth, we follow the story of Number Four who has just received a mark on his ankle the states that Number Three is dead and he know the Mogs will be after him next. But when he and his Cepan move to Paradise, Ohio and Four falls in love with Sarah Hart, everything changes.
This series is purely science fiction and for all of you sci-fi geeks out there, it is the best. But I'm not a sci-fi geek and I still loved it. It's is filled with these twists and turns and romance and comedy and drama and pure action! I strongly recommend reading this!!
Plus, the end of The Fall of Five. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! MY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND MY SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't mind me, I'm just heart-broken here.
