The Blood of Olympus

A sequel series to Percy Jackson and The Olympians, it is set about a year after the events of The Last Olympian. Jason wakes up bearing no memory except his name. He's in a school bus with his supposed girlfriend Piper and best friend Leo. Soon, they find out that they are demigods, the children of the Greek gods, and are taken to Camp Half-Blood (the only safe place on earth for demigods). There, they find out that Percy Jackson, the great hero of Camp Half-Blood has gone missing. As Jason, Piper and Leo embark on a quest, they learn a lot about their fates. But this is just the start of the story and soon, they find out that something bigger is at work here. A prophecy including seven demigods, a new threat, a new series of adventures. Buckle in!

This series is aimed at a young adult audience. It's one of the best books I've ever read! Filled with fun, action, drama, comedy, wit, love, loss, hope, friendship and whatnot.

The plot has twists and turns and opens up a new door for another set of mythological stories (you'll know when you read it; I don't want to spoil you!).

The characters, again, are very well-developed even there are, like, nine main characters. Each has a different story, a different personality, different powers and a different role to play in the grand scheme of things. Now these numerous "different"s may scare you and make you hesitate in reading this series, but do not!

Heroes of Olympus made me fall in love with Percy Jackson, the cutest demigod in the history of demigods, and the cutest fictional character in the history of literature. He's SOOOOO sweet and cute and asdfghjkl I just can't. Plus, Leo is waahhh, he's like, perfect and amazing and funny and adorable and I can't even. Okay, fan girl mode - off.

So, the female characters are also very strong. They are a mix of emotions and strength and fears. I think, these days, too much is being focused on girls. Like, I don't mind, but I think people took this strong female character leads very far, to the point where it became overused. Heroes of Olympus has a mix of boys and girls who help and support each other and are all equally amazing. So, that's a thing I really like about this series.

I'm sure this series will appeal to boys as well as girls (which can't be said about numerous other series). All in all, a must-read.
